32 oz growler from B2 taphouse in Salem OR $4.50 ( on sale). Clear golden coloured beer with an attractive thick and smooth head. Aromas of bubblegum, spice and herbs/ Taste more spicy and herbal but carbnation high. Mouthfel just fine..wel defined. A nice lighter Belgian ale

Aroma green bananas. White pepper. Tastes nutty grassy super authentic. Head and shoulders above the usual american Belgian fare. Ultra dry palate is spot on.

Tap at the brewery. Really excited to see this one come back around! A: Cloudy straw with a thin white head. Lacing. N: Straw, esters, peppercorn, coriander, funk, lemon zest, grapefruit, cracker, hazy, and green apple. T: Very bitter and funky. Lightly sweet. M: Light body, no alcohol, very dry, spritzy carbonation. O: This is really nice still. I feel like it corresponds well to Orval; would really like to get this in bottles to do a comparison.

Bottle (375 ml) at home. 8.5 % abv version. Split 2-ways. Another one that spent a bit too much time in the cellar. Slow gusher. Clear bright golden with a frothy white head, decent retention, leaving lots of lacing. Aroma is of noble hops flirting with grapey notes as well as Belgian yeast, grassy notes, bread and lemony notes. Taste is grassy and bread forward with mild white grapes notes, hints of peppery yeast and very light bitterness. Medium body. Good carbonation. A bit oily mouthfeel. Dry finish with a short grassy aftertaste. It feels lighter than the abv suggest. Not bad, rather boring all-round but overall it’s better / more enjoyable than the sum of it’s part. Only thing I liked less is the grapey notes. Decent-good.

375mL capped bottle shared by Pruf. Slightly cloudy dull golden color. Small but tight head. Non estery, slightly lemon rind yeastiness, plenty of dough from the yeast. Gummy doughy too. Light effervescence. Flavor is thick, not sweet but a bright dough, light lemon rind fruit finish. Slightly stingy mouthfeel helps break through all the dough. Light hop bite at the very end. This is what an American Belgian should taste like.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2015 375 ml bottle brought to me by a friend. ABV listed as 8.0% on this particular bottle. Pours cloudy golden-orange with small, fine-bubbled white head. Aroma brings orange zest and pepper on first approach. In the mouth aromas of bubble gum (but well-integrated instead of being over-the-top), mineral, and fruit come in as well. Taste is moderately sweet with a short, pleasant, moderately bitter finish. Palate: soft and gentle; medium- body, average carbonation. Overall: I like this better than most locally produced Belgian ales. Would drink again.

Salmoniform (1272) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - SEP 10, 2014
Poured from bottle to glass. Hazy straw hue with fizzy white head that dissipated. Aroma is straw, lemon, earthy, slight funk. Mouthfeel is nice with a medium light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry with a slight bitterness in the following and an astringent earthiness in the finish. Overall this brew was ok.

murky gold, large bubbled white head laces all over. Dusty brett nose, faint grass and earth, light cotton candy, not as much as young Orval. Light grass and metal at front, more dough and brett esters mid, lightly peppery with more hay and saddle. A bit messy on the edges but otherwise decent interpretation. Matilda pre 06 still the best.

I have a 8.5abv version. Peppery aroma earthy lemon little bits of heat and bitterness. Ryelike flavor. Belgian yeast is a bit fruity but rides backseat to hops.
