Bottle thanks to dabeerbuddha @ BA. Pours a medium-dark brown with a small offwhite head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of coffee, grainy husk, chicory. Taste is of very light (might as well say none) maple (maple sugar, more specifically) and quite dry. Moderately bitter. Slight ashy/acrid angles. Body is medium and carbonation moderately high. An OK brown ale but not much more, feeling a bit hotter than 6% and a bit harsh. MarkoR (959) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 17, 2015
500 ml bottle at Firkin at the Tannery, in Kitchener. Pours a dark brown colour ail almost no head. Aroma is chocolate, malts. Taste is same, plus a hint of maple. Decent. mabel (9245) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 15, 2014
[6323-20140516] Bottle. Toasted chocolatey malt aroma. Hazy, dark red mahogany body with a long-lasting foamy off-white head. Charred wood and grainy malt flavour. Medium body. Average. (6/3/6/3/13) 3.1 HeistAlmighty (1156) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - JUL 8, 2014
500ml bottle. Dark brown, hints of red. Malt and slight burn maple sugar aroma. Pretty standard brown malts with a hint of sweet maple. Basically no bitterness. Pretty average body. Overall, the maple was subtle in an average brown ale, which might be better than the often burnt or over sweet I find in maple ale. Not sure it really added anything, but it surely didn't take anything away.

2014-05-16. Dark brown body with a nice creamy beige head. 3++ The flavour is fairly dry, lightly roasty toasty malt, sweeter notes of caramel and brown sugar, very lightly fruity and Very lightly metallic. Average bodied palate is smoothly carbonated. Aroma is moderate lightly toasty roast with brown sugar undercurrents, very light metallic quality to the malt. Decent for the style, possibly drier than when it was fresh? Bottle from the brewery, cellared several months barncatmatt (2287) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 7, 2014
500ml bottle from the brewery. Average brown ale with little to no maple showing. Decent but not worth the drive or the money. Weakest block three beer I’ve had. sudomorph (1181) - Barrie, Ontario, CANADA - APR 1, 2014
4.8% 500ml bottle. Pours a dark caramel red with an off white, one finger head. Aroma is slightly roasty with faint hints of maple, toasted bread, dark fruits, caramel, chocolate, and a touch of smoke. Taste starts off Roasty with some caramel, and finishes with a mild maple. Easy drinking with a medium-full body with a low-medium carbonation. Pretty clean with a slightly dry finish. Overall a nice brown ale. Well crafted and worth getting. Would drink all night. blankboy (7780) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 4, 2014
[Bottle (500ml) c/o j&m] Pours a deep amber-brown with a large frothy lasting tan head. Some lacing. Aroma of bready malt, nuts, some "bottle" or staleness and a hint of maple syrup. Slightly watery flavour is malty and nutty along with a bit of chocolate, hints of coffee and maple syrup, light hops and a light bitter finish. Light to average bodied. An O.K. Brown Ale. cubs (10693) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JAN 31, 2014
Bottle @ home, courtesy of BoostIPA. Thanks brah! Wael rake. Pours a bit hazy, reddish brown appearance with a brown head. There’s a lot of cocoa powder and coffee notes in the aroma. Some nutty and toasted malt notes as well. There is maybe a faint hint of maple but it’s certainly not very strong. Kind of thin bodied. Flavor is fairly sweet (pecans, caramel, toffee, chocolate), moderately bitter (earth), and has some roast / coffee flavors. Finishes a light to moderately bitter. Could use a bit more body but not an overall bad release.
