On tap at brewpub
With some time to kill I stopped at the BBC for a pint. There were several interesting looking options. Eventually I settled on this. Being that time of year when the weather transitions from warm to snow this fit the bill perfectly.
Aroma / Appearance - The body was the color of watered down maple syrup. Very fluid, it lacked the richness I was initially expected. Rye bread, baker’s chocolate, and sweet banana bread provide a dry texture that hangs in the air.
Flavor / Palate - Rye, extremely ripe bananas, and nutty chocolate linger sip after sip. It has this slight tang that hangs in the back of the throat. Ultimately this is a passable interpretation of the style but nothing remarkable.
