Can courtesy of HuskerTan, thank you - I think! Crystal clear golden color, massive white head. Aroma of papery fruit and lemon. Taste is medicinal fruit. HuskerTan (2203) - Ravenna, Nebraska, USA - MAR 24, 2015
A- Grains, slightly sweet, subtle citrus.
A- Amber color, hazy liquid, white head.
T- Grains, unbalanaced, grass, cereal, slight bitterness, citrus, metallic.
P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, astringent finish.
O- Happy As Ale? Nasty Ass Ale, is more like it. This was just plain awful. A bad representation as a style and a bad beer overall. The aroma is the only thing that saved this from being one of the worst beers I’ve ever had. In fact I’d give the palate a zero if I could. This brewery is owned by former cops. On the can it says "Justice Served" The only justice would be for these guys to be thrown out of the brewing industry and locked out forever. I’ve only had a few Blue Blood beers but holy crap they suck. I gave this a way higher rating than it deserves. unclemike (3124) - Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA - MAR 22, 2015
Pours out a very well carbonated clear golden color with a thin off white head. Aroma is of some odd grassy hops and some cereal. Taste has got some odd metallic notes in there, grainy cereal, toast and some light grassy hops. MetalNHopHead (1976) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - APR 26, 2014
UPDATED: MAY 8, 2014 Happy as Ale creates some mild tropical citrus sensations with its scent and aroma. The lacing helps the otherwise boring orange appearance. The body is hardly robust and the hoppiness is underplayed, but the balance is decent and the mouthfeel is okay. You can do a lot worse but this pale ale is average at best. Eh. Not much body, and tastes like a beer-flavored seltzer water. Too bad; Happy to be home, even if not that happy.

Medicine Hat Beerfest 2012. Can. Hazy medium gold with a thick dense head that lasts (even in my sample glass!). Grainy metallic aroma with a hint of citrus. Sweet grains, a kiss of peach pit bitterness but no hop aromatics. Not very good actually. pintbypint (3641) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 7, 2012
12 fl oz can. Hazy golden pour, white head which fades to a thin layer quickly. No lacing. Nose is citrusy, some nice bright lemon and grapefruit notes. Taste has grainy malt, light caramel, citrus and pine. Lightly hoppy, some aftertastes of pine and a bit of earth. Light body, medium carbonation. Decent quaffable APA. beastiefan2k (3981) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - AUG 27, 2012
12oz can poured into a Franconia Brewing glass. Pours with a small, fast fading head. The beer is dark golden color with a strong hazy leading to a moderate clarity. Aroma is slightly muddled hops in a white bread maltiness. The hops peaking out are strong but not clean/clear, some citrus. Its strong and fresh but too much indistinct maltiness in the way. Flavor is pretty much the same, clean beer but boundaries between malts and hops are not clear. Citrus and orange peaking past the malt backbone. Bitterness is low but hop flavoring is high. Moderate carbonation with a medium mouthfeel. All in all an average APA that is fresh. Perfectly nice beer but nothing special. Like the can design. patricks110 (2496) - Alberta, CANADA - AUG 13, 2012
Not half bad. Grabbed a can of this at Andrew Hilton in Lethbridge, Alberta. The pour is a light golden amber with a finger of dying head. The nose has a pronounced cereal and grain aroma with a light citrus hop and a bit of skunk. The flavor is quite similar with just a hint of mild astringent bitterness on the finish. Overall, clean and basic... reebtogi (6277) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 8, 2012
355ml can pours a golden color with a finger and a half of white head that settles quite quickly but does leaves some thin spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is light citrus and cereal grains. Taste is moderate citrus hop bitterness with some light malty sweetness. Body is light and carbonation is acceptable. A respectable pale ale, but there are many much better ones out there.
