COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So rumor has it….that King Henry the VIII once declared Hops evil and wicked, a.k.a. - “Pernicious”. Well, that was enough for us to decide to double them up and bring you an IPA brewed in a fashion that even old King Henry himself would enjoy. With a traditional big malty back bone of caramel and yummyiness and an herbal hop bitterness, this Double IPA will have you remember this beers British beginnings while relishing in its American finish!

Draft at the brewery. Amber/ orange color with lasting head retention in a sample glass. Aroma has notes of grapefruit and a bit of resin as well as a odd herbal note.

Flavor has a good amount of caramel malt and pine. In the finish it shows a strange herbal essence. The bitterness is mostly pine resin.

jcnielsen (3412) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 1, 2016
On tap at Blue Blood in Lincoln. Pours a golden color with white head. Floral, herbal, hop aromas. Hoppy, herbal, floral flavors. Again, sort of watery for an imperial ipa. Very bland.

cubs (10635) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 29, 2016
On tap at the brewery. Hazy dark orange appearance with a cream colored head. Orange citrus, dull pine, and some floral notes in the aroma. Bitter caramel water with bland hops. Not overly offensive but not a repeat buy either.

MetalNHopHead (1976) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - OCT 18, 2015
The name suggests a hoppy ale of wanton, destructive power. The beer itself is a malt-forward false promise.

HuskerTan (2203) - Ravenna, Nebraska, USA - OCT 17, 2015
Draft. A- Orange, citrus. A- Orange color, clear liquid, white head. T- Citrus, stone fruits, subtle pine. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Very light for an imperial IPA. Virtually no bitterness. Not bad but not very traditional.

ajnepple (6625) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 29, 2014
On tap at the brewery. Light amber and clear appearance with an off-white head and lacing. Fully hopped aroma of floral notes, herbs, citrus fruit and pine. Similar flavor, medium hop bitterness balanced by light sweet, toasty malts. Medium body, creamy, smooth and soft with average carbonation. Pretty good stuff, nicely done.

3.5
EtTuCthulhu (1391) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - OCT 6, 2013
The appearance of this beer has an auburn color with an extremely large off-white head that has a slight orange tint. The aroma is a mixture of diacetyl, caramel malts, and resin and floral hops, and the taste is an impressive blend of mild bitterness, slight sweetness, and a touch of sourness. The palate combines a thick texture, long bitter finish, medium body, and a soft carbonation.
