On tap at GTMW. Poured murky peach with an easily-resuscitated beige head. The aroma was decidedly warm and English-inspired, with toffee and bready malts leading.. spicy fruits, black pepper, and a hit of clove around.. warm and welcoming. The flavor found warm toffee malt at the core, with caramel showing as the drink progressed.. fruity bitterness and peppery alcohol through the otherwise sweet, warm finish. Muddy off orange pour w/ a tiny tan head. English style aroma hints of toffee and a light pine. Avg palate. Flavor is toffee tons of what I called animal crackers and a lightly piney finish. On draught at the Blue Heron brewpub in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Pours a clear reddish copper colored brew with a creamy off-white head that has some excellent lacing and retention. Aroma of sweet raisin, caramel malt, some light brown sugar, and some tropical fruit. Taste is medium to full bodied, flavors of caramel malt, some tart green grape and a touch of dried prunes. Finish has a sharp and spicy Saaz-like hop bitterness with aftertastes of brown sugar, caramel and alcohol. A little metallic for the higher alcohol contents but may get a little powdery if aged too long.
