3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a clear copper color with almost no head. Nose is pumpkin, cinnamon, light caramel. Palate is crisp and clean. Flavors of pumpkin and caramel. Pretty basic but clean and well done.
Bottle: Dark straw, a bit of an orange hue, fine sediment floats about, thin white frothy head, little lacing. Faint spices, pale toasted malts, even a bit of straw/hay. Seems very underwhelming for a Pumpkin Lager. Thankfully the spiciness comes out on the tongue. Compared to others its a bit shy, but compared to its own aroma its at least making an effort. Body and mouthfeel are moderate. Finish is clean, lingering cinnamon/nutmeg like spices. Has a hint of straw/hay as well. Better drinker than a whiffer, thankfully. Slight tartness after the finish. thornecb (5945) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 29, 2012
Pours hazy amber into a Sam glass. White micro head with good retention top hats before cratering. Lemon zest and nutmeg aromas. Sour with lemon front to back. Mild spice in the finish. A mild sour, but I believe this was not intended. AirForceHops (7295) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 5, 2012
22oz. bottle into a lager glass. Color is a orange/ amber. Very low carbonation without any head. Nose is nutmeg and pumpkin innards. The flavor is tart yeast with before mentioned nutmeg and pumpkin follows. The yeast with the tartness doesn’t really mingle well together here. Not sure I would ever buy this again. 22 oz bottle from Muckey’s. Came out into the glass very over-carbonated. Had to wait a long time for it to settle down enough to even get a sip. Aroma is tart and fruity. Appearance is super-cloudy, medium orange with huge head and lots and lots of stuff floating around. Unfiltered? Obviously. Very yeasty flavors. A tiny bit of pumpkin and spice, but mostly all I can tast is the fruity-tart yeast. Dissapointing.
