An unusual combination of fruity hoppyness with a dark, malty side. This beer is distinctly difficult to categorise – is it sort of a porter or maybe a mild? You decide!
Colour: Dark Ruby

Cask handpull from the Blue Monkey bar, Nottingham 09. Pale ruby with a diminishing tan collar. Dunked choc digestive aroma with shrubby hop; biscuits, nuts and mostly citrus beneath with a good punch of grapefruit and floral soapiness. Afters pistaccchio and light toasty malt, some gritty coffee ground notes there. Definitely not a porter or a mild in the traditional sense; the hop is soapy, bittering and lingering. Whatever, really tasty brew.

Cask at the Stockbridge tap. Pours clear deep amber, nose is burnt toffee, caramel, taste is sweet, malty, chewy, light fruit.

Old transferred rating. Mild porter is a good description I guess. You could drink a few.

Toasted malts, dark grain malts, light earthy, fruity. Clear, dark brown, small, frothy, off-white head. Light bitter. Grain and light bread malts, lightly toasted malts, a touch of chocolate and coffee, flat carbonation. OK Porter, not quite typical, yet not bad. Cask at CASK Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico.

Cask, half-pint at Organ Grinder in Nottingham. Solid lacing from a stable fawn-coloured head. Red-brown coloured body. Smell of chocolate and mild caramel. Slightly roasted flavours of black and brown malts. Hints of malty bitterness towards the ending. Quite alright (shared with Finn 20.02.2016).

Fra fat på Organ Grinder i Nottingham 20 Feb 16. Delt med Rune. Ultramørk amber. Lavt litt tett skum med farge. Tett teppelacing. Spor av bær i aromaen. Smaken er plommer. Litt kjedelig.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Islington, London, 25 Nov 2015) Dark reddish brown colour with dense, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with red fruit, caramel and chocolate. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, red fruit, orange peel and a balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

licorice aroma, looks like cola with a frothy tan head, thin fizzy dry licorice flavour. revolting

Cask at Lamb, Newport. Pours dark ruby. Nicely spiced, full body, good hop hit. Cracking and smooth.

Cask at Organ Grinder. Extra point for the name, I liked that song. Earns this beer a music tag. Maroon color, beige head. Aroma of burnt toast. Taste is burnt brownies. Decent body. Nice one.

Cask (Pint Shop, Cambridge)
Nice chocolatey aroma. Brown husky aspects. Dark ruby, small tight head. Simple palate, quite dry and bitter. Not so refreshing. On the board as a mild, but I think this is more old-school porter. Palate a little harsh. A bit too drying.
