Cask at The Organ Grinder, Nottingham (a few years ago)
Pours dark ruby, single finger beige head. Aroma of light hops and roasty, toasty malts. Taste of initial malts, then some medium dark fruits, citrus, and more roasted malts. Very nice from what I remember!

Cask (handpump) @ Craft Beer Co., 82 Leather Lane, London, Greater London, England EC1N 7TR.
Clear dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, licorice, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dark malt, roasted - dark malt, hoppy citrus, licorice hops. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.
500ml Bottle - Dark brown with red tinges and a foamy head. Liquorice, roasted malt and soapy hops in the aroma. Hoppy and roasted taste with liquorice, roasted malt and coffee all being detected. Smallprint (74) - - NOV 24, 2012
Pours a dark ruby colour, like a porter, with a one finger, beige head. Smell of dry hops and some roasty malts. Taste is good, a slightly different take on the black IPA style (at least the ones I’ve had,) much less fruity and sweet than expected, much more bitter with a floral hop character, some citrus and plenty of roasted malts. Leaves a dry aftertaste, decent carbonation and a medium body. A very good beer, gets better as you go down the glass. RichardGretton (4770) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 11, 2012
Bottle. Muddy browny black beer with a strong lightly brown coloured head. The aroma is slightly sour with some bitterness. The flavour is very bitter with smooth roasted'ness and some sourness. Overall a nice roasted beer with heavy bitterness.

Cask at the Craft. Clear dark amber - red beer with a residual tan head. Light dry palate with low carbonation. Mild and mellow dark malts. Mild pine hops and some nice red berry fruit underneath. Smooth dry finish. Not bad - could be crisper!

Spiky sharp esters, but also something says it’s quite dry. Dark, small head. Big roasty body, quite burnt, and not ashy - but very nearly. Smooth palate, soft carbonation. Pungent hoppy finish, some grapefruit. No sign of 5.9% - a super English dark hoppy beer.
Cask. Dark brown, beige head. Roasted malts, light fruits in the nose. Sweet chocolate, roasted malts, sweet fruits. Bitter finish but fairly subdued. imdownthepub (14553) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 5, 2012
Cask conditioned at The White Lion, Oakham, Rutland. Dark Chestnut (not as described!) with cream head. Chocolate malts, bitterness, baked husk note leading to a leafy, dry, full hop note, slight tobacco flavour late on. Really pretty good. leaparsons (10546) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 4, 2012
Cask, Swan & Rushes, Leicester. Very dark brown with red tints and a bubbly foam Aromas are cocoa and light coffee malts with raisins and dark berries. Earthy with medicinal notes and mellow grapefruit. Floral and spicy. Flavours are toffee and chocolate malts with sweet raisins and hints of melon. Grapefruit bitterness with a dry, spicy finish. Lacks the oomph of some black IPAs but still tasty.
