1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Poured a cranberry color with a small pink head. Smelled of faintly of sweet grapes. Taste was pretty faint. I could detect a red wine flavor in there but it was almost was not there at all. Not very flavorful. An alright beer.
When opened it was like a wine opened poured a light ruby red color nice taste that of grapes and sugar had an alcohol bite at the end need to find this beer again jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - NOV 18, 2014
Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a cloudy dark red with minimal head. Aroma of red wine, welches grape juice, and sweet red fruits. Taste is lightly sweet but not even close to what I thought it would be. Dry red wine, grepe juice and red fruits. Alcohol very well hidden but it does have a warming finish. Medium bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Somewhat fizzy carbonation and a decently long, but abrupt finish. Pretty good. I would gladly drink it again. 220z bottle 9/28/14 (Binnys-Naperville)-40° in Shaker-Pours berryish with no head. Aroma of wheat and wine. Taste of the same. This light bodied brew is more wine than the previous beer. I don’t mind the try but a bit more beer taste over the wine bould be great. Strykzone (7355) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - SEP 9, 2014
Bomber. Deep brown red and opaque. This brought a big vinous aroma and flavor. Some fennel was tasted. A very different take on Blue Moon and it doesn’t work all that well. pkbites (946) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 26, 2014
This shit is really weird. Pours a cloudy purplish red with a dark pink head that dies quickly. Aroma is nice: dark cherries, light raspberries, raisins and figs. Flavor is odd as hell. I don’t detect wheat beer, but I do detect beer. It tastes like light beer mixed with cheap Merlot wine. The alcohol shines through as well. Thick mouthfeel. Bitter swallow is not the pleasant bitterness of hops, but that of unpleasant fruit skins. I have no idea WTF they are trying to do here, but they failed. I paid $2.29 for a 25.4 ounce bottle. Not overpriced but I will not be having this again.

Pours a light crimson red with a boozy head. Aromas sweet of candied cherries, fig and raspberries. Flavors raspberries, slight fig, dark fruit and cherry esters. Medium sweet with almost no aftertaste. Seems to taste better with every sip. Its hard to rate a beer from this company as decent, but my experience and taste tells me it is that decent. This actually tastes very much like a belgian ale! I can sense the grape in the flavor but it just comes out as more of a belgian dark cherry ester. puboflyons (3431) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 18, 2014
From the waxed top bottle marked 01314-C10610125. The pour is basically a hazy reddish-brown color with a quick burst of off-white head that turns into nothing. The aroma does have this vague malt and yeast ester but those Merlot grapes really take over everything to the point of extreme. The label calls it a wheat ale but I get no wheat. The body is medium. Like the taste the grape fruitiness kicks in and it ends somewhat tart. Whomever added this to the RB database got it right when they labeled in a fruit beer although Blue Moon calls it a wheat ale. Seriously. Patrickctenchi (6586) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - APR 29, 2014
Pours berry-brown with a short, light pink head.
Raspberry wine aroma.
Taste is slightly grainy, red wine, berry.
A bit sticky in feel.
Hard to believe it’s 9.5%.

Bottle. Red wine and light wheat malt aroma. Purple amber with small head. Light merlot and wheat malt flavor. Not bad for what it is. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAR 3, 2014
Bottle:   Pinkish pour, very reddish.   Does have a bit of that merlot barrel character.   Like the Golden Knot, its almost sickly sweet.   That beer was very much the white wine example, this one does an okay of being the red wine, albeit its a little more subtle.   Not as fruity or thick, its less flavorful but also less off-putting.   Like the Golden Knot, it seems to hide the ABV fairly well.   However, its lacking in brightness and character, too thin and uninteresting.   Had it been more sickly sweet, it would have been more interesting.
