Very good beer. Bold taste for an Ale which is a good thing. Very enjoyable.

Aroma: Earty yeast aromas with hints of bread and cereal malts.
Appearance: Clear amber with a rich tan head that dissipates quickly.
Taste: Light sourness balanced by a medium sweetness.
Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, long finish.
Overall: A really nice, well balanced beer. Not too yeasty, but the flavors are there to make it stand out. I really enjoyed this one. ravenlynne (2) - jacksonville, Alabama, USA - JUN 8, 2013 does not count
I like this one the best out of the seasonal box that I bought of these beers. It and the rounder are the best of the group. obguthr (6294) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - MAR 16, 2014
Mild currant nose and even milder spice. Clear copper, medium yellowish head. Vinous currant flavor. Nicely balanced. Fizzy and medium body. Pleasantly surprising, not mind boggling, but good. I misread the label and was expecting some sort of bad strawberry beer. legion242 (2348) - Richardson, Texas, USA - MAY 6, 2015
Poured a very pretty garnet colour with a slight, whispy head. Slight tartness in the mouth. Not much hints of any saison.

Pours bright amber, tastes light bubbly and sweet, a little hint of apple in there maybe but I do not taste any strawberry. Very good drinkability, a bit reminiscent of a good beer hint at fruit without going trendy ice. Better than I was expecting. I would buy this again. Shanebrews (293) - Virginia, USA - APR 25, 2013
I like this brew. The aroma is very enticing, each sniff reveals some new characteristic. The appearance is of copper with a low level of carbonation, producing little head. The taste is exploding with malt, a touch of spice and some tartness. FROTHINGSLOSH (7667) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 27, 2013
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-amber color with a large foamy orange-tan head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was orange, musty, cola and yeasty. The flavor was tart and dryish with notes of orange, lemon, touches of yeast and must and a hint of red wine. Medium length tart and dry citrus, must and red wine. Medium body. Decent. I was surprised to see this was made by Blue Moon. Nice amber color with an off white head. Nice malty aroma and taste. Metalchopz (3364) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 26, 2013
Part of their "Expressionist Collection", now under the name "Short Straw - Farmhouse Red Ale". Enjoyed in Vegas. Pour a clean deep amber colour with an off-white head, good retention and thick creamy lace. Actually a nice different scent with mild wheat, bananas, lemon sourness, hoppy soap perfumes and light roasted grains. The darker malts are in the taste as well, and milder, with light caramel, sourness, berries, coffee, chocolate and the soapy hops. An interesting blend of red ale, Flemish sour and fruit ale. I have to admit that I do like this one.
