The local grocery knocked this down to nearly half of its old price, so I decided to give it a go. A deep burgundy red with hints of light brown when held to light. A little tiny bit of a pink head clings to the edges of the glass. Strong vinous smells overpower the beer. A possible whiff of caramel sneaks in. The taste is dominated by the grapes. I only get a light hint of a lame american style wheat behind the huge grape presence. The beer is absolutely overwhelmed in this one. I assume this is gunning for wine lovers looking at the bottle style. Decent and different, but this one doesn’t know what it wants to get across. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - MAR 1, 2013
(750ml bottle, BB Apr 01 13) Pours a clear ruby red body with a small pink head. Aroma of cabernet sauvignon grapes, rose, and raspberries. Flavor of cabernet sauvignon and wheat with a dry finish. Tmoney99 (14480) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 21, 2013
Bottle. Poured clear reddish amber color with an average fizzy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate sweet grape aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet grape flavor and a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. High alcohol grape juice.

The aroma is wheat, cereal grain, grape juice (like Welch’s). The appearance s a red wine/pink color, white head. The flavor is grape juice, wheat bread, cereal grains. The finish as an acidic quality, and red wine sourness. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 17, 2013
On tap at Cincinnati Winter Beer Fest (CWBF) 2013. Clear reddish pink color. Minimal white head. Cranberry nose. Not as grapey. Pronounced, soft carbonation. Dry texture. Macro blue moon feel to it. More berry than grape, as far as fruits. Feels articificial. Kind of sweet taste. Not interesting at all, but very macro. No complexity.

Bought in poor lighting. Pours purple with a pink head. Minimal aroma of grape. Tastes like grape soda. Hard to believe these are cabernet grapes. Worst beer I’ve had in a while. shrubber85 (11408) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - FEB 17, 2013
Draft. Cheap red wine and wheat malt aroma. Red with pink head. Watered down red wine flavor. Like a bad red wine spritzer. chawkfan (27) - USA - FEB 16, 2013
Impulse was an impulse buy. Sounded interesting until I tasted it. Tasted like a grape soda. And a bad one at that. Was expecting more Was hoping for something similar to dogfish heads red and white, which i like. madvike (3264) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 13, 2013
Tasted blind. Pinkish-purple pour with a thin white head. Grape juice, a bit of dry red wine, and a touch of sweetness. Taste has a bit of honey, red grape juice, and a dry, white grape finish. Thin and smooth, with a bit of soft carbonation. RedSox2004 (1895) - Pacific Palisades, California, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Watered down blood red with a smallish head and minimal lace. Tastes like a watered down sauvignon with a dash of soda. Unpleasant grape sweetness in the finish.
