750mL bottle. Poured transparent garnet with a short, plum-tinted head.. very interesting color to it. The aroma picked up sweet, redder vinous notes, earthy wheat, and jammy berries.. as it warmed, the berries worked a bit too hard for my liking, but I did enjoy the grapeage. The flavor found clean wheat and lightly-toasted bread at the core, with jammy berries and red grapes throughout.. lightly-charred oak barrel on the dry edges and paired with berries on the finish. Light-medium bodied and a tad sweet on the palate.. wish it had more tartness.. this was aiight.

FROTHINGSLOSH (7487) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 20, 2013
Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a dark blood red-plum with a large foamy dark pink head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was dryish and musty merlot and tart cherry. The flavor was dryish, musty and dusty merlot with hints of tart cherry, vinegar and wood. Medium length musty merlot finish. Medium body.Somewhat disappointing.

750 ml bottle. This pours like grape juice with a pretty purple head and a deep red clear beer under it. It kind of smells like grape juice, too, but more vinous. My first thought after one sip is that it resembles communion juice. Grape flavor with a bit of wood and malt. The wheat ale aspect filters in finally and seems to be little more than a vehicle for the grapes. My first thought was not far off. That being said, this is completely inoffensive and extremely drinkable.

bottle from the tuesday bu11zeye tasting, dark reddish brown, this is identical to drinking a debouef beaujolais nouveau, young fruity wine notes with sweet grape finish

The beer pours a purple color with a large pink (thats right, pink) head. The aroma is very wine like. I get a lot of the cabernet sauvignon grapes, with a little bit of biscuit or wheat thrown in. The flavor is very similar. I get some fruity notes from the grapes, but there is also some tannic notes like you would get from a big cabernet. There is some wheat and other malt notes, but this is really all about the grapes. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

An amber and pinot red wine color with a quickly diminished lavender colored head. Communal red wine scent. Flavors of ripple and hints of malt. Not much to add on this. 7/13

750ml bottle tasted blind. Artificial red-wine color. Thin, foamy off-white head. Sugary chemical blueberry syrup. Tastes like a cheap wine mixed with a beer, or maybe a mead. Red cola flavor. unimpressive, one Ill avoid. Disturbing.

Looks as good as a strong fruity raspberry or cherry beer, but the aroma is very off. My wife likes the aroma but I hate it. The flavor and the beer both have plenty of butter, esp. the beer. I am surprised by how poorly the beer sits, considering how decent some of the other Blue Moons sit.

Pours ruby into a tulip. No head. Red grape aromas. Thin with cold duck front to back.

The local grocery knocked this down to nearly half of its old price, so I decided to give it a go. A deep burgundy red with hints of light brown when held to light. A little tiny bit of a pink head clings to the edges of the glass. Strong vinous smells overpower the beer. A possible whiff of caramel sneaks in. The taste is dominated by the grapes. I only get a light hint of a lame american style wheat behind the huge grape presence. The beer is absolutely overwhelmed in this one. I assume this is gunning for wine lovers looking at the bottle style. Decent and different, but this one doesnt know what it wants to get across.
