O- Not what I was planning on tasting. They tried a too hard with this one I think.
Bottle given to me by a friend. Pours a clear reddish copper color with a medium sized off white head that disappeared quickly. The aroma and flavor have caramel malts, light toast, red fruit, grainy, some Belgian candi sugar, mild off notes, Meh. Claves77 (260) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 27, 2015
Excellent color, thin lace. Off flavor, smooth, but not great flavor. Malt backbone. Poor imitation of great style. williamherbert (1544) - Syracuse, New York, USA - SEP 23, 2015
Sherry wine matte red color. Tall, proud head. Looks terrific.
Aroma is tart cherry. Just a hint of that Belgian spice. It’s like someone brewed a beer and then poured some cherry juice into it. It’s weak.
The flavor is more of that saccharine cherry juice. The feel is oily.
The beer feels very inauthentic, as if someone is trying to make a Belgian without any of the brewing methods. It feels like a cheat. It’s a disappointment, especially since I remember liking this when I had it a few years ago. Now I don’t. ogre71 (359) - Utah, USA - SEP 13, 2015

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 4/13/2015. Pours crystal clear deep ruby red color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of raisin, plum, pear, apple, light banana/clove, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Okay aromas with solid complexity and balance of dark/bready malt and fruity/earthy yeast notes; with poor strength. Taste of raisin, plum, pear, apple, light banana/clove, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light earthy yeast spiciness/bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, plum, pear, apple, light banana/clove, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Solid complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and fruity/earthy yeast notes; with a solid malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a smooth, moderately creamy, and slightly slick/bready mouthfeel that is okay. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a decent brown ale, but it felt more like an English than a Belgian style. All around solid complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and fruity/earthy yeast flavors; and pretty smooth and easy to drink. A fairly enjoyable offering.

I can’t be as harsh as others. It does have a nice molasses beer flavor. Sweet sorghum. Thin fading head. malty. an average beer but not bad for coors! RuneStumo (2687) - Haugesund, NORWAY - FEB 20, 2015
20.02.2015. 12 fl. ox. Bottle. Bread & Butter, New York. Dark brown coulor with tan head. Aroma and flavours of dark malts. Notes of grassy bitter hops. A little cellar touch. There is also some faint sour notes. Rather short bitter aftertaste. Body is medium to thin. There is some good flavours here but its a little thin and flavours dont last. drowland (8827) - Georgia, USA - FEB 15, 2015
12/20/14. 12oz bottle from my dad’s fridge. Another beer I was surprised I hadn’t had already. Amber pour with a small khaki head, mild lacing. Okay aroma, candi sugar, caramel, a touch of a Belgian aspect. Inoffensive flavor, caramel, candi sugar, a bit of a yeastiness, malty. Not bad.
