In the 1940’s, Belgian-Style Pale Ales grew in popularity and were ordered by the round due to their balanced taste. Rounder, our expression of this sessionable style, is crafted with hibiscus and orange peel for a hint of spiciness and touch of wheat for a smoother, rounder taste.

Malts: Pale, Imported Caramel, Imported Light Caramel, White Wheat
Hops: Cascade
Our Twist: Orange Peel, Hibiscus

The Rounder pours a mostly clear yellowish orange with a light tan bubbly head that didn't last long and left little evidence of its existence. The aroma is orange with a spice I cannot determine. The flavor is mostly a spice, perhaps coriander with some orange. Overall this is an alright brew but certainly not outstanding. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A clear copper color with half a finger of head and little lacing. Aroma has a little fruity ester and hint of caramel. Taste has some cardboard and pale malt with a touch of sweetness. No hops to speak of. Watery mouthfeel and light bodied with medium carbonation. Tastes off, did not enjoy.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks beerandbeyond. Clear deep golden color. Aroma is a bit oxidized with a bit of cardboard, fruitiness and a bit of caramel. Sweetish flavor, a bit caramelly, fruity, with a bit of spiciness in the finish. Light to medium-bodied.

Clear copper body with an ample white head. Faint hop aroma. The flavor is lightly bitter, some cardboard with a slightly dry finish. I missed whatever hops are supposed to be here.

Pale brown pour with an off-white head. Aroma???? very faint, wheat and citrus. Taste is as faint as the aroma. Blah beer.

Poured from a cold bottle. Clear fizzy caramel color, short lived small off white head. Slight wet towel malt smell. Tastes how it smells.

Bottle->SA. Dark copper with medium white head. Aroma is faint, with Belgian yeast, coriander, wheat, citrus peel. T: wheat, citrus hops, spice. Dull, but not bad.

Copper colored with a small, short lived head. Aroma is dominated by wheat and malts. Somewhat lighter taste and mouthfeel than I expected but quite refreshing. Offers a good balance between the cascade hops and caramel malts. A little less carbonation would make this one much more appealing.
