(12oz bottle thanks to mora2000) clear amber, wispy offwhite bubbles. Nose of banana extract, wheat, light orange peel, banana laffy taffy. taste of caramel, light orange, light in all flavors, banana extract, just artificial mist hard to make a good beer when you make ginormous amounts of it. 20 July 2012, bottle. Yellow, clear, some steady bubbles. Nose is cactus flesh, faint bitterness, and caramel malt. Med/thin body, faintly fizzy, and a bit syrupy. Kind of sickly syrupy, golden syrup malt, faint green grass notes. Ugh

A nice surprising aroma of caramel, hints of bread dough and banana. Pour in a semi clear copper looking robe, makes a lofty neck that vanishes quickly, and was very lively. Has a nice bitter taste to it, but has also too much over powering alcohol to my liking. Overall surprised as I expected not much from a Coors product, but Blue Moon does show a nice range of styles at least. they seem fairly popular in Arkansas so far. The beer pours an amber color with a white head. The aroma is grain, bread and a little bit of orange. The flavor is more of the same, with quite a bit of sweetness from the toffee and bread malt. There is a hint of orange, but basically this is just a beer full of grainy sweetness. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Certainly nothing special.

12 ounce bottle poured a copper color with aromas of malt, wheat, caramel, and a feint hint of oranges. Flavor is the same, interesting beer that had a touch of orange aftertaste. Decent little one off from Blue Moon. ronaldtheriot (1964) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - APR 10, 2012
Blue Moon Valencia Amber Ale has a thick, light beige head and a somewhat hazy amber appearance with minimal lacing. The aroma is pronounced- sweet, brown bread and a touch of citrus. Taste is of sweet brown bread, caramel, some slight citrus, a touch of hop bitterness, and alcohol. There’s an underlying cloying sweetness to this, which evokes malt liquor. Mouthfeel is medium and somewhat fluffy, and Blue Moon Valencia Amber Ale finishes semi-dry and relatively easy drinking. Overall, this is a good and interesting beer. RJT

4/7/12. 12oz bottle thanks to PorterPounder! Clear dark amber pour with a small khaki head that fades fast and barely laces. Plain sweet caramel aroma with a touch of metal. Similar lame caramel flavor with bits of metal and a hint of tartness. Meh. scooterbub (1067) - Lander, Wyoming, USA - APR 7, 2012
12 ounce bottle from a sample pack. Pours a clear copper with a nice, one inch, light tan head that lasts. Taste is of roasted malt, caramel, orange, wheat, honey and some spice. Has a nice orange, malt, and caramel aroma. The body is mostly full and a bit chewy. Easy to drink and quite enjoyable. One of the better beers in the Blue Moon series. Bottle from Kroger. Amber pour with a small off-white head. aroma is nutty cardboard and a little caramel. Taste is about the same. No oranges.
