Poured into a pint glass. Color is a dark ruby brown with a light tan head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is sweet and malty with caramel notes and maybe a hint of fruit. Taste pretty much matches the aroma. Mouthfeel is smooth and lightly carbonated. Overall a good mild winter beer. Definitely not a complex beer in taste or aroma, but extremely drinkable. mkel07 (5949) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - MAR 1, 2012
355ml bottle. Copper to teak red colour with lots of roasted malt in the aroma, also some toffee aromas. The flavor is mostly is caramel with a bit of vanilla thrown in. Nice fudgey toffee finish. kereltis (33) - Oregon, USA - NOV 1, 2012
Not a bad winter ale, very floral warm taste (not temperature ;-) ). It has a fairly bitter after taste and not in a pleasant way. Worth trying but would not be my favorite. kassner (1659) - Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 26, 2011

A brownish-amber pour with an off-white head. It has a toasty aroma with some caramel. The light body has a crisp texture with lively carbonation. The taste is sweet with a fairly quick finish. A little light, but pretty good.

Blue Moon Winter Abbey Ale has a thin, creamy, beige head and a dark ruby red appearance with little streaming bubbles and a decent amount of lacing. The aroma is sweet tea, clean water, and not a lot else. Taste is of brown bread, white wheat, caramel, toffee, medium-roasted barley malt, brown sugar, and molasses, with a touch of bitterness at the end. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Blue Moon Winter Abbey Ale finishes semi-dry, crisp, and relatively easy drinking. Overall, this is very good.

Pours a cinnamon brown with a light tan head. Light roasted malt taste with a clean dry finish. Smell some caramel but hard to detect. Can feel a mild spiciness. Drinkable and refreshing. I’d drink this one again. leah2974 (453) - Georgia, USA - JAN 16, 2013
Nice dark amber color. Sweet aroma. Notes of spices, caramel malts. Sweet flavors. tonyth1965 (39) - Illinois, USA - FEB 8, 2013
I like this beer. Nice spiciness, perfect color, with plenty of kick. A nice winter warmer. SilentJo (68) - Chocowinity, North Carolina, USA - OCT 25, 2013
Pours reddish brown with thick tan head. Aroma seemed to have a hint of chocolate perhaps? Malty. The taste has a slightly bittersweet taste, with a smooth finish. Not bad but not as sweet as I expected from the label description.
