$5.99 sale bomber from Sam’s Quik Shop. Pours dark ruby-brown with a generous beige head. Nose of lovely Belgian yeast and some stony fruits--plum, fig, overripe peach. Some dark grainy malts and relatively low-key allspice and perhaps cinnamon. Also hints at a strange acidity and tartness. Taste is not quite as good as the smell, though a nice lingering aftertaste.
Draft at the source. Clear maroon amber color, tan head. Aroma of spiced plums. Taste is sweet spiced dark fruit. decent. brownaler (742) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - JAN 7, 2017
Amber body with a slight Nelgian malt profile. Has a pine like and bubbly finish. Luvystypotables (2099) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - DEC 25, 2016
A Belgian yeast aroma with a hint of plum and cheese. Pours a hazy brown plum color with a lasting thin tan head. Tastes of Belgian yeast and plum with a watery feel and watery Belgian yeast finish. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 2, 2016
75cl bottle. Medium beige head atop clear dark amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, plum, some caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some plum, light brown sugar. Medium body, some effervescence, lightly sticky. josanguapo (2047) - SPAIN - DEC 1, 2016
From Cervezalandia. At JJ’s house. Shared in wine glasses. Very foamy but doesnt feel overcarbonated but smooth and light. Not bad but dull and with a bit of acidity

Caoba oscuro y espuma beis.
Dark brown color with light brown head. Aroma has some spicy yeast, dark sugar and some dark, tart fruits. Taste starts slightly tart and fruity, a bit of sugar but not really sweet and finishes dry and spicy. Body is highly effervescent, medium and quite dry on the aftertaste. Not bad but it isn’t really my style of beer. hershiser2 (3834) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - DEC 6, 2015

Discovered in the back of the cellar, this release might have been a bit past its Best By date when I cracked it open. Even so I don’t think I will be giving it a second chance due to the underwhelming experience and sheer number of alternatives (such as Great Lakes Christmas Ale). Hopefully other Blue Mountain beers are more representative of their approach to brewing.
Aroma / Appearance - A heady ochre pillar of foam surges to the top of the glass before beginning to ebb into a dusky black core with chestnut fringes. Peppermint, walnuts, and dry oak rise upwards on a wave of soothing vanilla.
Flavor / Palate - Bubbly generic cola mixed with spicy nutmeg tickles the palate before a quick transition to a nutty clean finish. The light body detracts a bit from the enjoyment but does make this unremarkable release a bit easier to finish. Ultimately though with so many other choices I don’t think I would try it again even if Blue Mountain was one of my locals.
bottle pour at beergeek beer shop. reddish shade of amber with a light haze and a fluffy off-white head; aroma of candied fruits and cake dough; hints of earthy spice from the yeast, white grapeskin, slightly gluggy cookie dough; not a bad effort
