Aroma is toast and tree bark. Clear brown, no head. Dry astringent tree bark flavor. Cola-like, but not sweet. Soft, easy carbonation. Velkyal (321) - Gordonsville, Virginia, USA - MAR 31, 2012
From a growler. Pours a rich deep brown/black with a foamy off white head. The aroma is grainy, like Weetabix with cold coffee and dark chocolate thrown into the mix. Tastewise again dominates with grainy malt sweetness, laced with traces of nuts and figs. Very easy to drink and distinctly tasty. A very nice dark, though more dunkel than schwarz. Served on draft at Beer Run. Pours a clear dark brown color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention and good lacing. Aroma of nutty notes, grain and chocolate. The taste is chocolate, grain and bitter hops. Slight lingering bitterness, light body, heavy carbonation.
