Opens with a robust aroma of roasted coffee, cocoa, and vanilla. Full black body with one finger of tan foam. As this stout warms it throws off scents of tobacco and whiskey. Feel is a gooey thickness, plenty of substance. Very roasty taste, bitter dark chocolate, and molasses. Slight kick at the finish. Cimbasso (1100) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 18, 2018
Sampled on draught at Barrel & Bushel, Tyson’s Corner. This is a really powerful Imperial Stout, full of strong flavours. There is a dominant sweetness of vanilla, Demerara sugar and chocolate, followed by notes of liquorice, prune and leather. The mouthfeel is mostly a rather cloying sweetness. There is quite a bitter finish to offset the sugary notes. Not bad, but too much sugar. HighlanderOne (1407) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - DEC 20, 2017

Bottle shared with pilsnertest. Pours black with a small off-white head. Aroma is pretty bourbon forward with earthy wood, molasses, chocolate and a light roast. Taste is similar with bourbon, oak, vanilla and chocolate. A weak hint of stale cardboard, I might have been holding on to this one just a bit too long. Still highly enjoyable though. stevoj (6062) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAY 14, 2017
2017 RIS tasting, 2017 vintage on the bottle. Maybe should have held it a little longer. Black, oily pour, head a bit darker than the previous ones. some of the bourbon comes through in the aroma for some boozy scent, nice roast grains, small amount of sweetness. Taste adds some more woody, barrel notes, some chocolate, some fruitiness, which doesn’t seem out of place. A bit of heat form the alcohol too. anders37 (28172) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAY 1, 2017
