COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark Hollow blends the miracle of two crafts--brewing and distillation--to create a work greater than the sum of its parts. An Imperial Stout has been aged in charred American oak bourbon barrels still dripping with uncut whiskey. For 100 days the young beer patiently breathes in and out of the wood, gaining complexity, character, and serious attitude. This ale is always bottle conditioned and can be enjoyed immediately upon its release from the brewery...or five years later, when you dust off the last vintage bottle from your cellar to share with good company.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2016 Bomber. Rich chocolate color. Flavor notes of chocolate, cherry, dried apricots and maybe a bit of peanut butter? The bourbon-barrel aging is fainter than you might expect, cut by the wood, which is fine. Smoothest, driest 10% imaginable. (Rated on 11/27/13)

Poured from a 750ml bottle, thanks to Craig. Big chocolate, coffee, vanilla, some hot alcohol notes. This is a tasty imperial stout.

Dark brown close to black with a medium sized ok lasting and lacing frothy light brown head. Feels pretty light for the abv and the flavour is mellow and muted. Cocoa, dark chocolate, light chalky, wooden, light whisky notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Very soft on the palate, no alcohol showing.

First beer I've rated in a while. Black body small tan suds light and very bubbly in the palate. Alcohol a bit noticeable. Don't really taste much of the oakyness, but good selection. - Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to snifter. Nice bourbon and chocolate flavors are masked by an odd sour aroma and flavor. I made a lot of faces.

Bottle courtesy of my wife and her trip back to VA. Colour....basically black with a thick tan head. Nose...sweet, malty, chocolatey, Ovaltine and cocoa. Palate...slick, slippery, creamy. Theres plenty of milky chocolate and roasted nuts and then the barrel comes through on the palate. I dont suppose theyll distro in Oregon anytime soon???
