Pours a rich orange/copper, topped with a nice white head. The aroma is a blend of grassy/graininess. Taste - the general sweet caramel is balanced nicely with a crisp bitterness. Very drinkable.
Poured medium amber with a frothy off white head. Aroma of sweet dark fruit, nuts and caramel malt. Medium body, flavour is medium sweet, medium bitter. Dry lingering bitter sweetness. Bamsen78 (5403) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - AUG 19, 2016
Bottle. Pours nearly clear dark amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, with notes of yeast and some fruity and hoppy touches. Mild hints of dust. Sweetish flavour of malt and caramel, with estery touches and notes of dust and hops. Spicy hints. Oliy texture. Bitterish and estery aftertaste. Decent, indeed, but rather sweet for the style. superspak (5603) - Michigan, USA - JUN 28, 2016
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of nuttiness, plum, apple, herbal, floral, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of nuttiness, plum, apple, herbal, floral, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 6.6%. Overall this is a very nice Dusseldorf altbier. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth, clean, and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering. commonmac (1248) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 27, 2016
Tap at brewery in VA with commonshawn, rosskyle, and samadouche. Pint glass. Amber/copper color, no significant head. Nose is malty and actually feels a little skunky. Some caramel notes as well. Taste is pretty straightforward with malts acting as the star. Caramel, toasted nuttiness, and malty/cereal are the prominent traits. Medium body with a slightly bitter finish. Very average overall but the brewpub is situated in a beautiful spot. TylerGreenDC (953) - - MAY 21, 2016
Draft. Aroma of honey, caramel and plum. Flavors of caramel, resinous hops and some ripe fruit. Crazy smooth mouthfeel. Easy drinker.

Bottled 355ml. -from Za Popen’t Ljubljana. Amber coloured with red glare, small off-white head, dusty malty nose. Toasted malt, caramel, slight nutty and dry fruity with some bready notes in rather dry finish. Pretty average and boring. martjoobolut (4401) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUL 19, 2015
