Reviewed 12/21/2012. 12 oz can poured into a pint glass. A: Pours a reddish copper color with top notch clarity for the style. This features one of the best heads I’ve ever seen on a pale ale - three fingers high, with an offwhite shade. The retention level and fluffy texture is quite excellent, and so is the lacing left behind on the glass. S: Tons of bready, caramel malts, grapefruit, and floral notes on the aroma. This one really reeks of Centennial hops, even though this seems to be primarily a Cascade-hopped ale. T: It’s a rather typical pale ale, with citrusy, lemongrass hop flavors backing up a clean malt undercurrent. The malts also seem to develop a nutty, earthy tone after a while, balanced by the hops. No extreme flavors here, just a simple, easy to drink pale ale. M: Very clean and dry on the finish and aftertaste. Has that crisp, refreshing texture that would make it great on a hot day, only with a body that could stand to be less flabby. O: It is what it is - a well crafted, basic pale ale in a can. Really, it’s just another SNPA clone, but that just means SNPA is such a great beer to ape. Damnit, I need to buy more canned craft beers ASAP!

Bottle. Orange, caramel malt, and orange peel aroma. Hazy golden yellow with large eggshell white head. Moderately sweet orange, caramel malt, and moderately bitter earthy grapefruit peel/dry grass flavor. Decent body. Interesting hops.

Pleasant bitterness, citrus and pine aromas. Just a solid IPA, nothing fancy, bitter and quenching, lemony with a light roast on the finish.

Can dated best by 11/23/16 into an IPA glass. A: Poured roughly to a huge off-white foamy head. Pale, slightly hazy burnt orange body. Great head retention and prolific lace. S: Light scent overall with orange/grapfruit notes out front. Faint caramel. T: Bitter and roasty at first. Some orange and zest then join but hops seem muted. M: Dry finish with soft carbonation. Medium body is pretty drinkable. O: Average to good overall. Certainly nothing to complain about and well worth a try.

Newport News, Va - Total Wine & More - 12 oz can, Dark orange pour has a slight haze to it with a silky snow white head that sticks around a while. Light spruce to the aroma, a touch of nuttiness. Solid flavor, light citrus bitterness, some, light pineapple fruitiness, a touch of spearmint. Mouthfeel has a decent thickness to it. Enjoyable,

12oz bottle. Never a good sign when brewers aren’t even aware of their own culture...How can you name a beer Full Nelson that seemingly has so Nelson Sauvin hops in it? Has that earthy caramel and NW hops tone going on, tastes like a beer from 15 years ago. I would have been more disappointed had a I picked up a sixpack instead of a single. Drab and unenticing. Some earthy onion/garlic hops tones.

Pours dark gold pale, huge white head. Aroma is fruity, juicy, citrusy. Surpising balance of fruity hops and soft malt, with a bit of bitter kick on the finish.

Body is full of sticky spruce hops and sweet caramel malt. Very tasty pale ale.
