It’s a toasted golden with a solid sheet of yellowed cream. Smells of light belgian yeast, apple meat, some bretty character, caramel malts and some dried cut grass. Flavor is malty, biscuits, some oak, smoke, golden raisin, seltzer, a little bitterness and some metal on the finish. Body is medium with a fine, silky carb and a near bone dry finish. I was skeptical of this beer, but was surprised to find the belgian yeast wasn’t too overpowering, while the oak was a nice second fiddle with this beer. Well done.
Aroma, hoppy and citrusy
Appearance is copper with mostly white 1.5 finger head . Very carbonated and lots of lacing.
Taste, starts very happy and goes downhill from there lemon vanilla light bourbon pretty bitter lots of carbonation. Does not finish well the barrel-aged aspect kicks in.
Palate, crisp and dry.
Overall, the label says it all experimental sort of Ale there’s a whole lot going on here none of which seems to be completed or finished if they had left it alone as a hoppy Style Beer and we probably be pretty good I don’t think the barrel aging does it well at all .Lemon, vanilla Oak ,bourbon and hops just don’t seem to go well together has a pretty funky finish and aftertaste SPDickerman (1239) - Texas, USA - SEP 15, 2016
Pours clear orange with a small white head. Smells fruity, earthy, vanilla, and oak. Taste is sweet, oak, vanilla, and fruity. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and average mouth-carbonation, Blue Mountain Local Species finishes with a pleasant sweet fruitiness. MikeJslc (778) - USA - MAY 1, 2016
Deep gold, clear, off-white head. Fruity, citrusy hops, pepper, strongly oaky. Well balanced, interesting beer. DandyWolfFloyd (1212) - Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 19, 2016
Aroma - Belgian yeast, spices, and some alcohol
Appearance - the body is a hazy amber. The white head is 2+" and settles slowly. Great lacing.
Taste - barley, spices (esp. coriander), Belgian yeast, and some slightly pungent hops.
Palate - medium body, average carbonation, and a mix of light bitters and some light alcohol. brownaler (679) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - JAN 29, 2016
Strong bourbon flavor balance by Belgian malts and American hops. The aging in barrels of this beer seem to complement it well.

Draft. Pours slightly hazy orange golden with nice lacing. The aroma has Belgian yeast, straw, oak, and bourbon. Nice flavor, quite dry with a slightly bitter finish. Very balanced. Medium bodied, a hint of booze and lively carbonation. Enjoyable. SpringsLicker (3644) - Tennessee, USA - SEP 27, 2015
Thanks to decaturstevo for the share.
Rusty orange/brown pour with a generous white head.
Fruity sweet aroma of malts and Belgian yeast.
The flavor is balanced and fruity. Not too sweet or bitter. Some light spice. I never picked upon any barrel thing here. The flavor is not as complex as the aroma hints at,but not a bad beer.

Slightly hazed gold/amber pour with white head and lace. Aroma is bready malt and fruitiness. Flavor is bready maltiness, oakiness, and a slight sour. Medium body with good carbonation. Maybe a touch of earthy hop flavor but no aroma. A touch of hop bitter. Ok by me
