Orange zest smell. Tastes like orange cake, slightly bitter and hoppy, but very smooth going down. Lemongrass, citrus, chamomile, mandarin oranges. SPDickerman (1239) - Texas, USA - SEP 15, 2016
Pours clear orange with a small white head. Smells fruity, earthy, vanilla, and oak. Taste is sweet, oak, vanilla, and fruity. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and average mouth-carbonation, Blue Mountain Local Species finishes with a pleasant sweet fruitiness. beerandfishin (9) - Washington, USA - SEP 9, 2012 does not count
Dark amber in color with a nice white head. Lots of lace. Aroma of light pine and citrus(orange). Tastes a little hoppy at first but then changes to a light oak at the finish. Mouthfeel was medium with some creaminess and a light carbonation. If a Barleywine and a Belgian style ale mated, then the offspring was aged in an oak barrel, this beer would be the result....FANTASTIC!!!

Aromas of orange peel and some lemon grass. Hazy orange with a mostly fading white head. Floral and fruity flavors, a definite Belgian yeast influence with somewhat spicy phenols, and a well balanced malt to hops profile. Medium bodied, very smooth, good carbonation, a little sticky, lingering fruity hops in the finish. Braudog (6716) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - JUL 28, 2012
Bottle, caged & corked. Opens with a nice pop, then pours with a sizeable topping of whipped foam. The beer itself appears dark, but held up to the light has a bit of a golden hue. There’s a definite hint of whiskey in the aroma, just a whiff. As I drink it, the bourbon essence is extremely well integrated into the beer, barely there ... definitely an odd twist to barrel age a relatively light, lightly hopped beer. But it comes out gorgeously in the finish, exquisitely balanced, and rollicking with flavor, yet understated. (#4711, 7/28/2012)

bourbon notes with fruity spicy sweet orange and caramel with nice carbonation some oak and bitter vanilla in there also. Very interesting beer. Jjg226 (71) - Staten Island, New York, USA - MAY 30, 2013
Bottle best by June 2014. Served in tulip. Pours deep amber with thick head that dissipates to a nice cap. Aromas of banana, spice, and yeast. Yeasty flavor with sweet malt and spicy notes. Barrel-aging hardly noticable. Medium body with refreshing carbonation. An overall refreshing Belgian pale.

Cloudy brown color, like apple cider. Has a light hops taste with a hint of sweet citrus. Delicious and smooth. BeerdedDave (1707) - Beckley, USA - JUL 13, 2014
cloudy amber color; floral hop aroma with notes of bourbon and Belgian yeast; a fairly bitter beer with fruity Belgian yeast notes, citrusy hop notes, and hints of oak and bourbon; well balanced
