Had this on tap at the East Nashville Beer Festival. Heavy burnt coffee aroma. The flavors add a bit of chocolate to the mix, but this is still heavily dominated by the coffee.

Really solid stout. It’s hot outside but this is the kind of stout that I could still see myself drinking even in the spring. Lush coffee with a medium weight. Finishes clean. Not too roasty. Good beer. Nice effort.

Bomber courtesy of Suttree. Thanks! Pours a dark brown color with a faint attempt at a head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, slight ash and mild roast. The taste is chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, a mild bitter roast finish. Thin-medium bodied. The taste is very reminiscent of bitter chocolate and it’s growing on me as I drink it.

Bottled. Chocolate coffee aroma hits as soon as the tan head settles on the opaque black body. Coffee mixed with cocoa powder hide the alcohol, a little burnt, finishes with good bitterness and body. Solid, I continue to be impressed with Blue Pants.

Pours deep black with practically no head. Aroma with distinctive notes of coffee and cocoa. Dry finish with coffee bitterness.

Poured into a snifter out of a 22oz bomber. Pours pitch black but with absolutely no head whatsoever. At first I really thought I got a defective bottle that had not been carbonated. There is just a very faint ring around the top but you have to look close. Really a big letdown. Aroma is a nice mix of coffee and vanilla with the coffee just winning out. Plenty of roast as well and really reminiscent of a well-brewed mocha. Loads of coffee, dark chocolate, and vanilla on the flavor along with plenty of roast. All is quite nicely balanced and there is a pleasant sweetness smoothing everything out. The lack of carbonation really shows up here leading to an excessively watery mouthfeel. The flavors also drop away rather quickly leaving just a slightly astringent bitterness. Overall, a nice beer that just falls a bit short. I really like what is going on with the coffee and vanilla and it is a little weak and fades quickly. The lack of carbonation really kills this beer and takes away greatly from the mouthfeel and appearance. It is certainly not worth the $10 I paid for the bomber.

650 ml. Opaque black with a small ring of bubbles. Mild nose of coffee, milk chocolate and soy sauce. Flavor is quality coffee mixed with caramel cola and milk chocolate. Finish has a hint of burnt popcorn and soy sauce. Medium body is watery and nicely dry, has low carbonation and hides the abv well. Best of the 5 brews I’ve had from this brewery and if you stick with it, it’ll kinda win you back over about halfway through the bomber.

Black, decent sized brown head. Smells like coffee and coco-puffs. Taste is coffee forward, but not as coffee forward as I was thinking it would be. Seems a bit on the thin side, too.

Plastic jug shared by brew3crew. Poured black color with an average fizzy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Medium roasted coffee and chocolate malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium roasted coffee and chocolate flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good and my expectations where met.

Draft at mellow mushroom Huntsville. Pours black with half an inch of khaki foam that disappears quickly. Has some fairly prominent chocolate notes on the nose. Lots of chocolate on the tongue as well. I can’t say I’m getting much vanilla on the tongue. Finishes clean. Solid example of the style.
