Plastic jug shared by brew3crew. Poured black color with an average fizzy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Medium roasted coffee and chocolate malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium roasted coffee and chocolate flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good and my expectations where met.

Draft at mellow mushroom Huntsville. Pours black with half an inch of khaki foam that disappears quickly. Has some fairly prominent chocolate notes on the nose. Lots of chocolate on the tongue as well. I can’t say I’m getting much vanilla on the tongue. Finishes clean. Solid example of the style. magsinva (1493) - Virginia, USA - DEC 30, 2011
Tap at Hsv mellow mushroom - pours a dark brown with a white head. Aroma has notes of chocolate, coffee, and wood smoke. Taste is slightly sweet. Overall, a solid effort. Itzjerm (3172) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - SEP 16, 2011
UPDATED: OCT 23, 2012 Slight sour flavor that has to be overcome. If you can ignore that, it is an enjoyable beer. Smell is very much chocolate/coffee. Flavor is very much coffee strong coffee. It does hold a burnt flavor. Slight bitter. If they can fix the sour part, this could be a keeper.
I’ve had at another point not sour but way over hopped. This is not a good brew. GTAEgeek (2497) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAY 15, 2011
On tap at the Rocket City Brewfest. Pours pitch black with a large tan head. The aroma is strong black coffee, tobacco, and hazelnut. The flavor is a charred bitterness, with limited malt sweetness. The palate is heavy, syrupy, and has a long bitter finish. Overall, a very strong stout, with a lot of flavor, but little balance.

Growler. Poured black with a tan head that settles to a ring. Chocolate and raosty malt aroma. The flavor found more milk chocolate and backing of roast. Medium body with a chocolate aftertaste. Dry, almost chalky texture. coolpop (1394) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - MAR 27, 2011
Draft. Pours nearly black with a beautiful dark tan head. Aroma is milk chocolate, some coffee, roast malt. Flavor is that plus a hint of vanilla, smoke, and brown sugar. Almost no fruit. Sweet up front with a mildly bitter finish. Very solid stout. horto008 (188) - Alabama, USA - FEB 5, 2011
You could smell the chocolate/dark malty-ness of it, but the taste had a strangeness compared to other stouts....I would describe it as an almost cola aftertaste. The mout feel was nice and heavy, and the smokey-chocolate taste was quite refreshing. It didn’t feel overly heavy or light and seemed to have a balanced feel. newogiarc (2) - Alabama, USA - FEB 4, 2011 does not count
I had this last night for the first time and I loved it. It has a thick chocolate-y taste and was really easy to drink even though it is a stout.
I have been very impressed with Blue Pants Brewery and look forward to future brews. BeerandBlues2 (14018) - Escondido, California, USA - JAN 29, 2011
