Interesting rye beer. Supports a very good cause. That alone makes it worthy of purchase. FROTHINGSLOSH (7697) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 28, 2009
Sampled on draft at D’s Monroeville this beer poured a vibrant orange-amber color with a large orange-white head that lingers. The aroma was strong sweet fruity hops with a faint spicy undertone. The flavor was strong sweet and bitter fruity hops with a piney element and a touch of dry spice in the middle. The finish was long, spicy and hoppy. The mouthfeel was fairly thick and a bit syrupy. Complex and well done.

Tap, Mr. Goodbar. Copper body, white head. Nose is apple, dusty malt, some rye spice, some lemony clay-like malt. Flavor is honey, spicy malt (black pepper), some unripe put fruit towards the butter, grainy finish. beastiefan2k (3948) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - JUN 11, 2009
Cask @ Rattle n Hum, served in an imperial pint glass. The beer presents with a glowing clear light brown color. Atop of that sits a nice thick white head with a sticky lacing. The aroma is a mix of watery tea from the malts and juicy hops, not too strong and similar to fruit punch (think Hawaiian Punch). The flavor, on the hand hand, is more aggressive in its hoppiness with more bitterness coming through. I do not detect and spiciness of toast from the rye but just a tea like maltiness. The best part of this beer come from the cask, which is actually served at the proper cask temperature. This also allows for an undercarbonated mouthfeel, which makes for a velvet like feel on the cheeks. Similarly, the head produced is pretty to look at. The beer itself is very plain and average, which goes right along the other Blue Point products.
