Draft sample. Deep brown with small tan head. Sour cherries with roasted and chocolate malts. More interesting than good. obguthr (6593) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - SEP 21, 2014
Walnut aroma with faint plum. Black, thick tan head. Tree bark, sour plum, some vegetal notes. Medium body. Eh, I don’t like fruited stouts, and this one I particularly didn’t like. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - SEP 14, 2014
9/13/2014. On tap. Dark brown with a tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate, cherries and coffee. Bitter malt flavors, amplified by the cherries, yet with balance. Smooth finish. LuckyDog (615) - - AUG 15, 2014
I’ve had other Blue Point beers that I thought were good. I’m not crazy about this one. It’s got kind of a medicine taste. jdb288 (584) - Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA - JUL 21, 2014
Bottle. Pours muddy, midnight black with decent tan head. Aroma is black cherry, dark chocolate, a bit of espresso. Taste is bitter/sour cherry right up front. It doesn’t develop any sweetness or real body. The malts kick in with a bit of the advertised chocolate/coffee, but it feels like a weird mix here.

Maybe a hint of sour cherry, so for those that aren't fans of sour beers should not steer away from this brew. It is a delicious imperial stout!

22oz bomber thanks to JohnGonk. Poured a thin dark brown color with a thick frothy tan head. Aroma is nice. Some tart funk, sour cherry, roasted malt, and milk chocolate. Taste of tart cherries and funk up front, followed by roasted malt, light char, and chocolate in the finish. Brigadier (3725) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - MAR 18, 2014

The second beer I ordered was a much better draft. A standard imperial stout with a dash of sour cherries tasted almost like a blend of Belgian Red and Old Rasputin. If you can’t get it locally you can come close with a custom blend.
Aroma / Appearance - Creamy black ink sits idly in the glass. An ivory white head is a nice decoration with an edge the color of newspaper scraps. Malt, cherry bits, coffee, ash, and anise over a bed of plums create a dark fruity profile.
Flavor / Palate - Ash, Bing cherries, and ripe plums set a positive tone. A transition of anise carries the creamy mouthfeel towards a robust finish. Other than a slight burst of green apples this is an excellent imperial stout. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to try something different.
