COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Truly worthy its majestic name in fluid ounces, our Sour Cherry Imperial Stout is anything but sour. In fact, we have to make sure theres plenty of it available for Valentines Day after all, nothing says love like chocolates and a Sour Cherry Imperial Stout. This is an extremely complex version of the classic Russian beer style with plenty of roasted, black, and chocolate malts that delivers multi-layered coffee and sherry notes in a surprisingly smooth package. The beer is then matured with just a kiss of real sour red cherries. If you see Sour Cherry Imperial Stout on tap, give it a try like true love, its sometimes hard to find.

The cherry is overwhelming. This destroys the overall character of the stout.

Draft pour into a snifter at the Sybarite Pig in Boca Raton, Fl. Mostly black in color with a small off-white head. Some mild lacing. The aroma was decent with hints of dark chocolate, roasted malts, very light cherry, and vanilla. The taste was similar. It certainly wasnt cherry heavy...matter of fact I think Id like a little more cherry flavor. But overall it was fine. Dark chocolate, hint of cocoa nibs, vanilla, and roasted malts. Dry finish. Medium body for the style. Booze well hidden.

http://imgur.com/l3wQSAb - Bomber. Pours opaque brown with tan head that lasts and laces a bit. Smells of vanilla with an astringent note. Drinks smoothly with mild lingering bitterness. Medium bodied. Tastes of coffee and vanilla. Finishes with a slight stringency. No cherry flavor. Buries its alcohol content quite well.

Bottle. Black pour with a tall, frothy tan head. Aroma is strong roasted malt, coffee notes, dark fruit, hints of sour cherry, cherry cough syrup and dark chocolate. Taste is chocolate covered sour cherries and roasted malt with coffee notes, burnt caramel, dark fruit and dark chocolate brownies. Body is medium-full with a strong, bubbly carbonation. Light warmth as well. Ends with more chocolate covered cherries, dark fruit, roasted malt, coffee notes, burnt caramel and smoky wood. Nice!

Great expectations would be a better name for this beer. It looks great dark chocolate colour with a thick creamy head. Aroma of malt and chocolate with a complex taste that disappoints. The palate is extremely phenolic and chemically acidic with a hint of burnt band aids.

The head makes up more than 50% of the glass. Like washing machine sis. Great color. Dark Chocolate malted milk balls aroma. The taste is complex, real acidic palate to it. Interesting beer. Mellows as you go.

Poured from a room temperature bottle. Dark brown color, full tan frothy head. Dark chocolate roasted malt aroma. Very acidic flavors mixed with a tart roasted chocolate and phenolic malt finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had this at a recent tasting. Nothing really at all memorable about this. Dont recall any sourness at all.
