From a can poured a dark brown color with a good amount of head. Hoppy malty flavor with a lingering finish. elgiacomo (745) - Ringgold/Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, USA - JAN 9, 2013

Pours dark brown to black in the glass with red highlights, surprisingly light-colored head for a dark brew, off-white to a very light beige, 3 fingers, very rocky/foamy, lasts forever.
Aroma is kind of mild, lemony citrus, pine, caramel, bread, light roasted malt. As it warms up, it gets better, better strength, more roasted malt notes.
Flavor is pine and citrus hops, lemony, mild roasted malts, mild chocolate & coffee, mild sweetness, good bitterness, mild alcohol. THEN it warms up and gets a lot better. Citrus, pine, dark, rich roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel.
Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied, good to sharp carbonation.
A hoppy Guinness? Light in body and light in the roasted malt flavor. Gets a LOT better as it warms up, Good to Very Good Black IPA. Not the greatest out there (Sublimely, Dubhe, etc), but in the ballpark of something like 21st Amendment’s Back in Black.
head. Aroma is roasted malt, light caramel, citrus, grapefruit and flowery hop. Flavour is light roasted malt, heavy citrus, grapefruit and flowery hop, light fruity notes. Nice bitterness

16oz can----> tulip. Pours a cola brown with a thick tan head and pretty strong lace. Great roasty, citrusy aroma. Taste is pretty much just roasted bitter. Decent enough creamy palate with pretty good carbonation. Just not a lot going on with this beer. r464 (2360) - Earth, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 5, 2013
Dark brown, huge and foamy tan head. Slightly toasty malt, a bit of toast, then a nice hops finish that is more smooth than punchy.

16oz can from Spirits Brick. Poured a super dark chestnut brown that pretends to be black till the light hits it, large foamy off white sticky head. Aroma is porbably the best part of this beer, well except for the cool ass can, notes of syrupy chocolate, citrus rind, orange slices, earhty, slight coffee. Medium to full body with a creamy mouthfeel and carbonation started off stong but calmed down to leave a rather pleasant mouthfeel. Flavor of burnt oranges, dirty citrus, earth, dark toast, last sip of cofee, grassy, hint of butter. The beer is decent, the packaging is great and the price is awesome (hence the overall bump up). Can. Very dark brown pour with ring of khaki head. Black ipa with lots of ’c’ hops. Earthyness, and deep hop profile. But honestly, this beer name is just awesome. You might even mistake the can for a Four Loko, but this is pretty good stuff. boxofrane (2553) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 28, 2012
Can from Mari’s. Pours clear dark brown with a big cola head. It actually looks like a coke. The aroma has some citrus notes, some floral notes, an a roasted character. The taste is medium bitter but of a longer than usual length.. there is a nice sweetness in the backend... roasty.. a little cocoa perhaps. Solid with ABV well hidden. milewide (2250) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - DEC 27, 2012
16 ounce can. Decent citrus hop aroma and taste. Roasted malt had very modest addition to taste. Average body at best. Sammy (12210) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 25, 2012
The hops have faded somewhat, yet the shwartzbier, roasted black beer aroma and flavour remain. And so I get a somewhat citrus integrated shwartz. Good aroma, good colour and off-white head and lace. Very drinkable. Pleasant, below average as a straight out black ipa.Can from FlandersNed in Warren. Middling mouthfeel.
