Can, much thanks to Dave. Pours out a reddish brown color with a big off white head. Aroma is of moderately bitter hops, citrus, light chocolate and toasty malty notes. Taste is citrus and floral hops, caramel sweetness, semi-sweet chocolate, toasted malts, some lingering bitterness and light soy sauce notes. bth122 (1567) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 25, 2013
Can. Poured a dark copper color with a full frothy head. Nice typical ipa aromas. Medium bitterness. Pine flavors. Texture is kind of creamy. A bitter finish. Alright alright alright! jsmerig (1590) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 25, 2013
Pours a not suprisingly deep brown black. Aroma is of citrusy hops. Taste is mildly sweet up front followed instantly by a strong peppery bitterness. A bit of burnt malt overtones as well. I could have one, but I’m not a fan of the style so that doesn’t mean too much as it’s a good representation of the style. DocLock (10689) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Pint can from Capone’s and State Line. Pours chestnut toward black colored with 1-finger tan head. Nose is choc malt, resiny hops, cacao. Tastes piney hoppy, with the hops taking the forefront, and a cacao and black patent malt flavor at mid-palate. In fact, the hops get dominant late, which is OK because the malt balances them out well. This one is very good. smith4498 (3646) - Winter Springs, Florida, USA - JAN 20, 2013
16 oz can. Pours dark brown color with tan head. Citrus and roasted malt aroma. Similar flavors. Medium body with average carbonation. The best beer I’ve had from this brewery.

Can. Pours a very dark brown color with a moderate off-white head. Nose has a decent amount of hops to it. Taste is well-balanced, with both the hops and the malts coming through. Fairly smooth, too. RABinCO (1511) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JAN 13, 2013
Fresh can. Pours a deep, dark brown with a surprisingly thick pillow of cream head. Leaves nice lacing. Excellent balanced aroma of roastiness and citrus. Taste is very much the same. Creamy yet resiny mouthfeel with big roasted notes, but very fresh, grassy hops characters. Exactly what a black IPA should be. dimenhetfield (2486) - , Florida, USA - JAN 12, 2013
Tall boy can poured into glass. Very cool artwork and how can you not like a good black ipa out of a can? Dark pour, big hints of hops and slight malty-ness as well. Very cool and interesting. obguthr (6357) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - JAN 11, 2013
Can: Metallic, weak pine neeedle aroma. Clear brown, thick light tan head, abundant lacing. Pine needle, thyme, and anise seed flavo, all very complimentary. Medium body, easy carbonation. Balanced with a pleasant level of intensity. Not spectacular, but distinctive and unique. A very nice spicy IDA.
