16 ounce can. Directly off of the fedex truck via ksurkin. Thanks man! Dark brown pour with a pretty big off white head. Toffee, chocolate, coffee, a bit of roasted pine cones, and just a hint at fruity hop bitterness. Not exactly a kick you in the face black IPA, but not bad either. The cans logo claims it is extremely fresh, but no date on the can. Oh well, still good. jjgmd (2162) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Pours a dark brownish black color, with a nice head. Nose is sweet with citrus and piney. Taste is bitter and balanced by some deep malt, with some subtle licorice. Finish is bitter and moderately long. Quaff Score 7 / 10 philipmeese (84) - Rowayton, Connecticut, USA - APR 11, 2013
On tap. Pours an opaque black with a dense foamy coffe colored head. Bright aroma of hops, coffee notes. Very full body, slight carbonation makes for broad & smooth feel. Wonderfully balanced initial salty mellows to sweet with a smooth finish. Really nice take on an IPA. Miked1687 (608) - Buffalo, New York, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Can Poured into a glass. Dark Brown appearance with a very light brown head that laces a bunch. Smells chocolaty and hoppy. Some coffee in there too. Taste is a little thin. Some light coffee, dark roasted malts, bitter hops. tastes pleasant but a bit bland. burg326 (5482) - Florida, USA - SEP 2, 2013
16 ounce can before softball, poured a dark brown color with aromas of coffee grounds, and light citrusy hops. Flavors are the same, earth, light coffee, and citrusy hops, nice beer overall.

$2.80 can from Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville. Pours dark brown with a large beige head. I expected this to be more "sludge" like. Smells of pine and grapefruit. tastes of pine, grapefruit, cold coffee, soap, some spice... leftover stale coffee. ben4321 (6504) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - NOV 20, 2010

Aroma: The nose is toasty and roasted malts, earthy hops, and some citrus
Appearance: The pour is a muddy brown-black with a small tan head
Flavor: Flavor is balanced, has a good combination or roasted malts and hops
Palate: The body is somewhat thick, its medium-full bodied, but still drinks pretty smoothly
Overall, this is a solid black IPA. It isn’t anything spectacular, but its certainly worth trying. I always like these beers where they send the proceeds to charity, that is certainly always a good thing. Anyway, it is a solid beer, and worth buying at least once.
Very solid black IPA. Pours a deep amber, borderline black but light gets throug faintly. Aroma is caramel and citrus. Taste is sweet with muted bitterness. Smokeyness lingers. Nice

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of resin, pine needles, earthy, peppery. Tastes of light resin, some sweet caramel, tea. Spicy finish. Not as bold as some of their other projects, but enjoyable. drowland (8676) - Georgia, USA - DEC 8, 2010
12/7/10. Draft. Nice mix of roasted notes and piney, catty, almost sour hop aroma. Nice flavor that leans more towards roasty with touches of sour hop.
