Each extremely limited, special batch of Blue Point Wet Hops Experiment is hop-backed with 100 pounds of wet Pacific Northwest hops. Wet hops are fresh off the vine and must be used within 48 hours for maximum aroma and bitterness potency; which means we only brew a couple batches in late summer when the first harvests of west coast hops can be shipped overnight. Vienna, Melanoidin, Munich, Crystal and chocolate malts amount to a nice, medium body. The Mt. Rainier, Cascade and Crystal hop base is rounded out by Amarillo and Simcoe wet hops after the boil to lend a grassy, resiny finish to this well balanced, easy drinking, dark copper session ale

Pours a slightly hazy golden orange from the bomber with fluffy white head that dissipates slowly to leave good lace, not dark copper, maybe they removed the chocolate. Aroma of sweet caramel malts, slightly oxidized, citrus and fruity hops. Taste is pretty much all the oxidation, a hint of floral over cardboard malt. Good carbonation, medium bitterness. No date code on the bottle, just a 2013 copyright on the label, even if its more recent, hop harvest was 5 months ago.

With Z , a bomber , pours a rusty orange color with a beige head. Nose is flat with mild hops. Taste is mild citrus with light hops and light bitterness. Finishes on the same tasting notes, dryly, but lacks an true distinctive flavor. Average at best, but drinkable . Quaff Score 6 / 10

Pours a hazy dark golden color with little head......aroma of pine, citrus.....taste is bread, bitterness, touch of plastic. Very odd off flavor, since a Florida purchase perhaps damaged in transit.

Thanks Erica, This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than forty seconds. Light lacing came across and ended up trickling along the sides of the glass. The smell had a glossed over burnt bitter citrus hops with a light caramel malt coming in and out. The taste was mainly the same thing. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat sharp but nothing overbearing. Light citrus sharpness rolled over the tongue. Overall, decent APA, think I could do this again.

Bottle. Moderate aromas all around, with grain and straw for the malt, herbs, grass and pine for the hops, soap for the yeast, with a hint of pepper in the background. Head is small, frothy, white with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky, medium amber. Flavor starts faintly sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, slick with a lively carbonation. This American Pale Ale has nice hop aromas up front and a pleasant flavor and feel to finish it off.
