Pretty good. A good basic ale. Not an outstanding choice, but not bad. A little muted in flavors. Mild hops and slight choco malt notes.
UPDATED: FEB 2, 2018 Pours beautiful, great creamy head, beautiful dark amber colour. Lifted malty nose, caramel and Xmas cake fruit on the palate. Slightly toasty. Great winter beer.

Pours a clear garnet/amber with a decent smoky linen head that depletes rather quickly. Aroma is caramel and hop spice. Taste is sweet caramel malt, biscuits and a bit of cocoa powder. Hop bitterness is rather muted, but in a good way for the style. Bif (2415) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - JAN 6, 2018
On tap. Pours a nice amber color with a small white head. Aroma fruit and caramel. taste is similar with fruit, caramel and trace of spice. Mild bitterness with a slightly sweet finish. Moderate body, smooth with a definite caramel presence. Tad too sweet. PanMarek (465) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 24, 2017
Dark, reddish clear pour with thick, rather quick foam. Lots of sweet fruit and caramel in the nose. The taste balances the fruit and caramel. Medium body with moderate carbonation and slickness. It’s a little too sweet, even for a winter beer. R4N5H (1392) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 13, 2017
12oz bottle at 101 Constitution NW, Washington DC on 6-Mar-2017. Dark brown with a reddish hue and a thin white head. Aroma of sweet fruit and biscuit. Fully body and soft carbonation. Heavy taste of caramel, dark fruit, molasses and spices. Lightly hopped and heavy sweetness. A little too much for me.

On tap, lounge at JFK. Deep brown amber colour, thin white foam. Quite rich, malty, hint of oil, and a little boozy, with a moderate hop bitterness. Would have benefited from being served warmer for sure, but not a bad wintry ale. tfontana (1222) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - APR 22, 2016
Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Cigarette City. Aroma is sweet caramel, dark fruits, brown sugar. Appearance is a clear, dark ruby red with minimal sparkle, 1/2 finger width white head with poor retention, no lacing. Taste is strong sweet fruity caramel. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, average carbonation with late lively kick, sweet fruity finish. Overall, a nice winter offering but no complexity. A little too sweet, which is saying a lot coming from me. two7offsuit (448) - Massachusetts, USA - MAR 26, 2016
Pours a deep Amber with an off white head. Aroma of malt and brown sugar. A little sweeter than expected. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - FEB 1, 2016
Pours a reddish brown color with ivory colored head. Caramel malt, biscuit, bread, and some molasses on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with bread and molasses. Pumpkin87 (250) - - DEC 31, 2015
Pours a clear, deep auburn with dense khaki head that reduces steadily but leaves a bit of lacing.
The nose is caramel, bread, molasses, malt riding over earthy yeasts. The palate is similar, a nice mix of seasonal flavors as advertised, with caramel, raisin and mild chocolate. The spice is more a suggestion than a strong note, and the herbal hops are mercifully restrained. The result is actually well balanced without having to shout about it.
This seems more like a traditional English ale. It’s nothing outlandish, but made with finesse to reflect the season and appeal to mature palates.
