Very average winter a bit of grainy sweetness std look and body. Not bad but not memorable.
12oz bottle at 101 Constitution NW, Washington DC on 6-Mar-2017. Dark brown with a reddish hue and a thin white head. Aroma of sweet fruit and biscuit. Fully body and soft carbonation. Heavy taste of caramel, dark fruit, molasses and spices. Lightly hopped and heavy sweetness. A little too much for me. JorgeLee (2086) - Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 25, 2017
On tap, lounge at JFK. Deep brown amber colour, thin white foam. Quite rich, malty, hint of oil, and a little boozy, with a moderate hop bitterness. Would have benefited from being served warmer for sure, but not a bad wintry ale. tfontana (952) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - APR 22, 2016
Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Cigarette City. Aroma is sweet caramel, dark fruits, brown sugar. Appearance is a clear, dark ruby red with minimal sparkle, 1/2 finger width white head with poor retention, no lacing. Taste is strong sweet fruity caramel. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, average carbonation with late lively kick, sweet fruity finish. Overall, a nice winter offering but no complexity. A little too sweet, which is saying a lot coming from me. two7offsuit (448) - Massachusetts, USA - MAR 26, 2016

Pours a reddish brown color with ivory colored head. Caramel malt, biscuit, bread, and some molasses on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with bread and molasses.

Pours a clear, deep auburn with dense khaki head that reduces steadily but leaves a bit of lacing.
The nose is caramel, bread, molasses, malt riding over earthy yeasts. The palate is similar, a nice mix of seasonal flavors as advertised, with caramel, raisin and mild chocolate. The spice is more a suggestion than a strong note, and the herbal hops are mercifully restrained. The result is actually well balanced without having to shout about it.
This seems more like a traditional English ale. It’s nothing outlandish, but made with finesse to reflect the season and appeal to mature palates.

Brown sugar, a bit sweet, caramel, watery molasses, moderate maltiness, mild earthy hoppiness, stronger as it warms; just okay. pumpmaster (1393) - Pembroke Pines, Florida, USA - DEC 4, 2015
12 ounce bottle purchased at Total Wine Pembroke Pines, FL for $8.99/6-pack. Good. migwell (365) - Massachusetts, USA - NOV 30, 2015
Bottle poured into a Lagunitas jar. I was really not liking this when I saw the ABInBev connection... glad I only bought one bottle. ’Hearty and robust’? More like sugary and off-flavored. Had to dump this into the glass to get any head at all, which was fleeting. Smells of malt, tastes of brown malt and brown sugar. Light on the hops as well. Simple, bland, unbalanced, ordinary, I would have been pissed off if I bought a 6 pack. Garrold (5174) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 27, 2015
Bottle. Trade with Leighton. Cheers. Clear amber. Film of clingy, off white head. Spicy, biscuit, toffee malts. Some raisin fruitiness. Taste is burnt toffee sweet. Has a rising, quite harsh bitterness. Full body. Finishes sweet, with more of the bitterness. Ok at best.
