The aroma is smoky. The palate is smoky. This beer is way too smoky and hoppy to be a Vienna lager as it is billed. An odd beer. morty99 (371) - Maryland, USA - SEP 10, 2002

Not bad, but not the greatest lager......................................... Derek881 (1272) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 9, 2006
I tried this hometown beer poured from the bottle, and was quite pleased. The beer had a malty, caramel aroma and came out a rich, but light, amber color. It had a mixture of flavors with a medium body and carbonation. Overall, I got more than I expected out of this beer. brentfeesh (1216) - Mansfield, Ohio, USA - DEC 11, 2006
12 oz bottle thanks to my Secret Santa. Soft brown hazy pour with amber leanings. Wispy head. Lightly sweet malt aroma that is a bit nutty. Lightly malty taste with hints of nuttiness and a mild sharpness at that finish. Fair. Body is medium.

Bottled. Nothing wrong with this lager. Was looking for something more. Tasted like any other amber. LinusStick (3530) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 7, 2008
Not a bad vienna, though my hometown Penn Pilsner has this beat. Aroma was very weak which is disappointing as it would have scored higher. Pour was a nice medium amber with no head. Taste was a little thick...but had heavy roasted and caramel malt flavor. Nice carbonation and a a thin film seems to go down the throat with the swallow. Odd. Decent beer. While it is a good quality beer, there is entirely too much smoke. The hops are completly overpowered by the smoky malt. A little too over the top. While Blue Ridge has been doing well, this beer is unfortunatly an exception for me. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 13, 2004
Clear copper body topped by small, quickly dissipating beige head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, butterscotch. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, toffee, light earthy bitter finish. Light-medium, slightly sticky body. ganache (6088) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 2, 2007
Bottle. Sweetish caramel and toast malt fragrance. Amber pour with a rocky eggshell head. Crisp caramel and toast taste in a biscuity malty body with a little funky kick. Medium body with an only slightly dry caramelly aftertaste. Smooths out. Pleasant and quaffable.
