3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JAN 22, 2008 Date: 12/23/2006
hazy copper, fine dirty white head, lots of lace,
light sweet caramel malt aroma with nice citrus,
lots of great grapefruit hop flavor, just enought slightly sweet caramel malts to provide the amount of balance needed to make this a great hop delivery system,
Score: 3.6 to 3.4
picking up some dyactyl in both the aroma and flavor that along with a reduction in hops gives it an English character,
Score: 3.4 to 3.2
dyactyl is still present but more hops hides it pretty well and brings it back to the American side, touch of astrengency in the bitterness

Had a quite enjoyable evening at the Blue Ridge Brewing Co. in downtown Greenville, SC yesterday, now to submit my evaluations of their brews. First up was this pale ale, which begins with a clear pale amber color, good lacing but not much head. Has a sweet fresh aroma of fruity hoppiness. The flavor is roasty malt, a little earthy, with a good medium-bodied texture. Maybe a hint of cocoa (?) in the flavor, or maybe I'm misreading a subtle caramel note. Has a unique tropical finish.
Good!!! but not as good as their stout.
Either way I recommend giving this brew-pub a visit.

Overall a very nice ale, much better than any macro you could find, not too hopy, with a nice finish and complements alot of the foods from their menu

On draft at brewery, poured golden color, aromas of light citrus hops, some yeast, and bread. Flavor is the same, lackluster at best, but still better than a macro. Drake (13740) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 26, 2012
Draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear golden color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Weak aroma with notes of herbal hops and buttery malts. The taste is citrus and floral hops, toasted malts and butter. Medium bodied. anders37 (26657) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JUN 16, 2011
Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy piney aroma. Fruity malty hoppy flavor with hints of pine needles. Has a fruity malty hoppy piney finish. unclemike (3124) - Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA - MAY 22, 2011
Pours clear gold with a large sudsy head. Nice yeasty/citrus aroma. The flavor starts very non-dimemo and finishes with an unpleasant hop flavor that is piney to the point of a soapy flavor. The mouthfeel is thin with heavy carbonation. An unpleasantly off aftertaste follows. Even though I enjoy heavy hops, this beer needs more than just bitterness to be good
