Sampled at Charlotte Oktoberfest ’05. Amber coloring with a beige head. I can’t really explain the flavor of this one - someone beside me said it tasted like a cookie. Caramel or toffee, maybe? There just wasn’t any balance to it... something about this beer just didn’t sit well with me.

Tap. Poured clear dark amber color with an average frothy white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate hop and toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable beer.

3fourths (9357) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 6, 2014
UPDATED: FEB 25, 2014 Apple cider nose, malt is toffee and stale bread crust with faint resemblance to English malt. Medium-light body. Sweet with balanced low bitterness. Rough and chalky yeast, some husks. Low carbonation. Spicy phenols on back. Not much EKG or Fuggle character, rather a generic leaf / vegetable quality (spinach, okra) with off-putting lingering notes of rotting apple and brined lemon. From draft at the brewery.

2.7
hopdog (12953) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 4, 2013
On tap at the Blue Ridge Brew Pub in Greenville, SC. Poured a golden color with a small sized off white head. Earhty, toasty, and lighter caramel.

On draft at brewery, poured an amber color, aromas of earth, carmel/toffee, and some malt. Huge bitter aftertaste, but up front a nice blend of caramel, grass, earth, and toffee.

3.3
Drake (14059) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 26, 2012
Draft at the brewpub. Pours a hazy dark copper color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of toffee malts, floral, earthy hops. The taste is toffee malts, nutty notes with an herbal hop finish. Medium bodied, decent but maybe a little too bitter.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2011 Has a nice caramel malty aroma. Pours a beautiful clear crimson red with off white lacing. This is a nice warmer weather beer and goes down smooth with no off putting flavors.
