San Antonio, TX - on tap at Blue Star. Creamy mocha colored head, nice sticky lacing, deep dark black pour. Chocolate and topsoil in the aroma. Solid bittersweet baker’s chocolate, some topsoil notes, a hint of licorice in the back end. Nice dry mouthfeel. Asked the bartender what his favorite was and he suggested this - glad I listened.

On tap @ Blue Star- Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, with hints of vanilla. Pours a midnight black with a persistent creamy tan head and abundant lacing. Rich rewarding palate. Roasted malts, milk chocolate. Smooth and very creamy mouthfeel. Overall, the taste, while not robust is, it is very satisfying. On tap at the brewpub in San Antonio where it was presented as an Irish stout and called "Spire Stout" with an ABV = 5.35.
Appearance: Pours clear but nearly opaque and black in the wine glass. The semi-durable head leaves little lacing.
Feel: Near medium body and light carbonation.
Flavor: Rather hoppy for a stout, so American Stout?. Plenty of dark malt flavor with a bit of hops. Medium bold for style. .
