Poured into a pint glass.
3.0 A: Lightly hazed dark orange color. Two fingers of foamy off-white head. Retention is a touch below average and only a few wisps of lacing are left.
3.25 S: Toasty with caramel sweetness. Maybe a hint of mineral quality to it. There isn’t much going on overall though. Still, it’s not bad.
3.0 T: The taste is like the nose. Toastiness, a bit of caramel, and mineral. Not much else. Still, it’s not terrible. It tastes a bit like a bitter, just not a great one.
3.25 M: Lighter body. Good moderate carbonation. Moderately creamy, but still lacking something here.
2.75 D: It’s okay, but it’s easily forgettable. In fact, uhh....what was I talking about?

Pours clear coppery-amber with a decent buff head. Malty aroma has a hint of caramel. Flavor has a firm malty stroke supported by yeasty and caramel tones. Texture has decent body and fizz. Prost!

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2014 Tap @ Bluegrass: Hazy copper body, kind of dingy & topped with a fuzzy beige collar. No aroma. Literally, none. It gets a "2" because at least it doesn’t smell... Bad. I guess. Smells like water. Taste includes some toasted bread & burnt crackers with a touch of floral earthiness underneath. Some lightly sweet biscuity malts in the finish, coating the mouth. Draft at the brewery on 3rd and Main. Pint glass pour was deep amber to brown but mostly clear. Medium white head lasted and laced. Aroma was malt forward per the style with roasted nuts, dough, dark breads, herbs, and wheat. Smells like walking through a pasture just before harvest. Decent hop balance profile. Medium to light in body, good malty finish. Medium carb. Overall good for the style.
