Not a bad offering at all. A little light in body for sure, but it’s got a nce flavor. The aroma is caramel and roast mostly but definitely has some dark berry-like fruit notes. Flavor follows, including the berries, but that could be a mental thing. It’s easy drinking for an imperial stout, almost too easy, but it’s still good. Bottle shared by a friend. Darkest brown in color with a thin beige head. Malty nose with notes of bourbon, chocolate and licorice. Malty flavor with bourbon and chocolate before a roasty finish. obguthr (6656) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - NOV 7, 2014
Fudge and oats with subdued bourbon accents. Mahogany, thick tan head, fair retention no lacing. Bourbon is more assertive on the front of the palate, but gives way to roasted malt notes and coffee. Medium body, soft carbonation. FROTHINGSLOSH (8142) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 1, 2014
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy brown head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was bourbon, coconut, chocolate syrup and sweet vanilla. The flavor was bitter and roasty with notes of coconut, vanilla, bourbon and marshmallow. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied. The alcohol was well contained. Tap @ Bluegrass: Almost black with dark brown trim, a thin khaki collar outlines the top of the brew. Aroma with some mild roasted malts, toasted nuttiness, faint wood & a definitive, albeit not overpowering tannic presence. A touch of vanilla (maybe from the barrel) with a touch of ash. Flavor is sweeter than expected; some lightly syrupy molasses notes, dark cocoa, a bit of vanilla, overly roasted coffee beans, & some slight boozy oak towards the finish for a touch of robustness. Aftertaste mouth coating of dry coffee grounds & mild wood. A tad thin but pretty nice.

Nose is woody, slight mints. black with a light brown head. taste is more stout than barrel, a dark chocolate almost dark roast coffee flavor, but with a touch of booze, but very faint. meh. fitwitchik (433) - Ohio, USA - SEP 27, 2014
Poured from a bottle into a snifter deep auburn brown with a thin white head.
Aroma is roasted coffee bourbon.
Flavor is initially fantastic. Caramel, brown sugar, bourbon, roasted malts but fades quickly. Maybe its an older bottle (?) Absolutely no booziness here for a 8.9%. Moderate carbonation thin to the mouth. Would like to try again with a fresh brew-not a bad brew at all. Palidor19 (3193) - Brandon, Florida, USA - SEP 26, 2014
Nice and dark with a small, decent amount of nutty, and dark malts. No hop bitterness and only a mild carbonated fizz, still good and still strong to drink careful

"via Thomassova. Christened the new house with this brew. Looks good on the pour. The aroma and flavor is significantly different than most barreled stouts i’ve had. Not a good thing really, but not bad either. Less booze, vanilla, and bourbon. More chocolatey, smoke, and a hint of tang which I though took away from an otherwise excellent brew. The luscious, smooth feel was the beers strong point."
