Light malts and oak aroma. Dark pour not much head. Some malts and coffee and light bitter nick76 (4402) - Tampa, Florida, USA - AUG 13, 2014
The aroma is weak for a beer of this kind with toasted malt, coffee, and a small hint of bourbon barrel aging. The appearance is brown with a thin head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall not much here to impress or disappoint. rollsrace (86) - - AUG 9, 2014
Good mixture of the level of flavors. Strong chocolate with coffee and Carmel after taste. Just a hint of bourbon. Not as dry as some other syouts Rrauth (1196) - North Carolina, USA - AUG 1, 2014

Pours an inky black from the bottle with minimal tan head that leaves light lace. Aroma is vanilla, sweet barreled goodness, hint of soy. Taste is lighter, kind of dry stout with hints of vanilla and wood. Alcohol is well hidden, but otherwise falls a little short of good.

Pours jet black with minimal head. Definite smell of bourbon. Chocolate and toffee with hint of bourbon on the taste. Overall, a very good stout drfabulous (8590) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - JUN 9, 2014
12 ounce bottle. Rich thick stout with nice overall chocolate notes. Decent overall. Lectvay (191) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAY 22, 2014
Pours a thin-looking dark brown with almost no head. No strong aroma, a little molasses and cherry. This doesn’t taste bad, but it’s a little watery and not very flavorful. A bit smoky. I just don’t imagine this was a robust enough stout to really benefit from aging in bourbon barrels. nashley (1) - raleigh, North Carolina, USA - APR 30, 2014 does not count
Decent drink. Not much head. Mild body. Good color. I would recommend if no better stouts are available. Fritz123 (1597) - Boca Raton, Florida, USA - APR 20, 2014
Draft at the brewery in Louisville on nitro. Pint glass. Poured a deep brown, nearly black with a thick lasting velvet nitro head. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts, prunes/figs, bourbon barrel, oak, and mild spices, The taste was similar. It was on the sweet side with the cocoa and vanilla pretty dominant and the oak barrel on the back end. The nitro made it thick and fluffy (not too thin like the comments below) but in a way I guess that;s kind of cheating. Full body with the nitro and moderate carb.
