UPDATED: OCT 3, 2003 Draft: Not a bad Christmas ale. A bit on the trendy side with all the spices. Nutmeg and ginger? Orange flavors as well, light body, copper color, and little alcohol for a winter beer. Soft as well. Only on draft in the fall and winter months. TheBeerOrg (2145) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - DEC 6, 2007

A nice winter warmer for the price ($2.50) I would have enjoyed this even at the cost of a full pint. The only real regret I have is that I had enough that I saved little room for a great BA Rye Porter that followed. If you pick carefully at the BBC you can actually try beers that are not total trainwrecks (ie "lambics").
Aroma / Appearance - Weak headed, the body was the color of dulled copper that has yet to turn green. Spiced nutmeg, clove, and caramel were just a subset of experiences that also included iced gingersnap cookies. It smells a bit like someone dropped a roll of sweet tarts into Dr Pepper.
Flavor / Palate - Heavily spiced candy canes attack the senses for around a minute. Overly sweet and cloying it needs to take this aspect down a notch. More body or less spice would put it on par with an average year of Great Lakes Christmas Ale. Coming from the BBC however I will take what I can get.
750ml btl numbered 1/77 brewmaster. Pours a rusty copper with an almost non-existent head. Super spiced aroma of ginger, cinnamon and other seasonal spices. Medium bodied mouthfeel not much carbonation. Nice caramel malt base, lots of that same xmas spice, raisins. A hint of alcohol, pleasantly warming. I wish it had a bit more body and a little more carbonation, but an enjoyed seasonal on a snowy night. Rasmus40 (21690) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - SEP 30, 2011

12/03/2010: BBC Ebenezer (through a Randall of dried
fruits and cinnamon sticks)... Aroma: Dry clove, orange, cinnamon,
nutmeg. Appearance: Amber color, frothy light beige crown. Flavor:
Very much like the aroma along with some slightly sweet and bready
maltiness underneath. Palate: Medium-light to medium body; smooth.
Overall: Nice balance of flavors; easy to drink.
Draught sample(s) during the BBC "Backroom Brawl" at Party Town in Florence, KY. Rating #15 for this beer.
