Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of joergen. Pours a pitch black with a beige head. Roasted malt aroma, quite some licorice and tar but also some phenols. Solid body, some hard roast malt, dried dark fruits and licorice, but again some unpleasant phenols. Warming, chocolatey finish. Nice but not overly sophisticated. 301110 yespr (47034) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - NOV 30, 2010

Pours all black with a fine, staying, creamy yellow-beige head. Complex oaky aroma, light tartness, some roasted malts, oats, mild peity smoke, chocolate, light blackberries. A hint og grapes as well. Lowish carbonation, creamy yet a bit fluffy mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet and a bit sugary at first, some grapes, coffee, mild smoke. The oak comes through lovely and elegantly. Aftertaste is very nice, lightly vinious, some dark chocolate and a mild burning sensation in the finish. Actually an extremely well-crafted beer with lots of subtle nuances. The chili is used elegantly to spice up the finish, but not ruin the palate. The oak softens up the black malts. And the smoke adds another dimension. Really good.
Bottle at home. Black - brown head. Black - brown head. Coffee, burned notes, nice medium hoppy, nice smokey, fruity, licorice, light milkey notes, grassy, light piney/resin notes. OK.
