COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The heaviest beer in our arsenal, this imperial stout is rich and complex with variable amounts of roasted malt character that makes for a delicious balance of coffee and dark chocolate flavors. Its full bodied velvety texture holds nothing back on the palate and has become arguably one of east county’s favorites.

Une belle grosse pinte mélassée, chocolatée avec infusion de coco dans une texture exemplaire. Le service donnait l’impression d’un cask tellement c’était velouté et finement carbonaté. Belle surprise qui s’est traduite par plusieurs pintes.

Draft at the Santee Bluegrass Festival. One of only about 4 dark beers on the whole field so it was nice to get an Imperial Porter. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. But the aromas were better than the flavor which was similar just not as pleasing.

On tap @ BNS. Black in color with tan foam. Super roasty and ashy beer. Lots of licorice, Dr. Pepper, and burnt sugar. It’s got a bit of a fresh cut grass hop character to it. Sort of syrupy and sticky for my liking, though it doesn’t taste cloying...just kind of has a lot of elements I don’t care for combined with some I don’t mind...if that makes sense.

On tap at Southpaw near Petco. Pours opaque black with a small head. Nose is all malt, with just slight chocolate and ash. Flavor is a malt bomb; slight roast, molasses. Bitter finish and slightly watery mouthfeel.

Pours a jet black with a one finger khaki head with excellent lacing. Aroma is of roasted malts, bakers chocolate, espresso, light licorice, and some light ash. Taste is similar to the aroma with a lot of roasty coffee notes, coco, caramel, and some burnt molasses notes. Has a medium-full body with a creamy mouthfeel and a semi bitter, medium-long finish. Overall, a pretty nice imp. stout that is very good for a brand new
