UPDATED: NOV 11, 2015 Nice beer. Touch of fruity after taste. Fig, date. Muddy brown color. The 10% abv is well hidden. katrinaez (2137) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 29, 2015
UPDATED: JUL 1, 2015 Rich cocoa scent. Deep black color. A very malty and slight rye flavor. Hops come out at the very end. Bottle
Tap - watery at first light considering it’s imperial and a high abv. The end is where you get the flavors. Had a coffee aroma. Only a 3 for tap. BeerdedDave (1846) - Beckley, USA - JAN 15, 2015

A beer that tastes better than it smells. Black chocolate body. Taste is bittersweet dark chocolate. Better as it warms. Rich, hops in the long finish. bth122 (1604) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 15, 2014
Bottle. Pours black with a generous head. Aroma of cocoa sweetness, sweet milk cream, slight coffee. Taste has a hop backbone with nice smooth roasty flavors and chocolate. Heavy bodied. Average carbonation. Creamy texture. Pretty good. trapped (3367) - New York, TURKEY - JUN 20, 2014
Bottle. Dark brown with tan spongy head, caramel aroma, low carbonation, roasted malt-caramel taste, long finish with roasted malt aftertaste. Good example of an imperial stout. HighlanderOne (1352) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - JUN 8, 2014
Poured from bottle. I smell malt and ocean. Looks like a classic stout. Toffee, licorice, coffee dry cocoa, lotsa roasted malt nicely balances these flavors. Just a trace of alcohol in the back. Had a tough time detecting the hops - comes thru as pepper and spice, I think. Overall, an outstanding brew from a local brewer. Looking forward to trying more Boaks beers. jdb288 (584) - Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA - MAY 6, 2014
On tap at Maloney’s (NJ). Pours brownish/black with tall tan head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, and some earthy notes. Taste was chocolatey in the first few sips but that dissapated as it warmed. Strong peanut/roast flavor as well. Flaked oats in this? Feels a bit dense. Was actually expecting more when it opened up but didn’t get much. Still pretty decent.
