In tap at three penny, great thick roasty rich beer, awesome addition to the Vermont brew scence Lubiere (14110) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 29, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 30, 2012 A deep dark porter with a thick frothy brown head. In aroma, a smooth chocolate with light coffee notes, light soy sauce. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate with coffee grinds, vanilla, alcohol warmth, mocha coffee, beautiful. On tap at the brewpub, March 17, 2012. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - FEB 6, 2017
Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a frothy white head managing to dissipate at a good pace. Mild lacing.
The aroma starts off with a huge sweet milk chocolate base. Crisp nutty notes follow in. Dark fruits play with some dark chocolate.
The flavor yields to the sweet side with a soft smooth bitterness from the dark chocolate. Dark fruits seem to fall back way more. Lingering robust dark chocolate plays with the sweet side in the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a spectacular sessionability about it. ABV seems well hidden.
Overall, I liked this one a lot for me as the ABV doesn’t seem as pronounced as in other Baltic porters. Also, the dark fruits really don’t make any noise in this one so much, so another quality somewhat missing from this. Still, something about it that I would love to come back to. mikem409 (2027) - bloomfield, Michigan, USA - AUG 17, 2012

From this cracking Baltic Porter seep plentiful raisins and biscuits, a complex and drinkable flavor display which also evolves into roasted angles and dark chocolate ideas.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the dark brown hued blackness.
-Alcohol is not really apparent in the flavor profile.
-This could use a few more dextrins, imho. Although in the strong lager category, this could not be crisper and more drinkable.
-These guys’ are brewing top notch, amenable lagers. Bravo!
On tap at the Vermont Brewers’ Fest.
In short: A roasted Baltic porter that is more drinkable than it should be. Almost a session brew. Very good.VTHopHead (1511) - Seymour, Tennessee, USA - NOV 29, 2009
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Black body topped by a small beige head
In long: Main flavours are a medium level roastiness, toasted cookies, some black liquorice and cooked raisins. All that is followed by an effective grassy resinous bitterness. The beer sure does not feel sweet or syrupy like many Baltic porters. Alcohol well hidden. Another nice beer from Bobcat Café. Drinks like a 6% brew. This brewpub as improved so much since my first visit and getting so much good comments that they will soon be able to sell undercarbonated beers at twice the price.
Draft at the brewpub - Poured a dark brown in color with a medium tan head that settled to a covering over the beer, Aroma is malty with roasted malts and some chocolate. Flavor is also roasty and slightly sweet with hints of chocolate, dark fruit and some bitter spices. Even though it has a fairly high ABV, alcohol is not apparent at all. Drinkably dangerous... jcwattsrugger (12507) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - DEC 7, 2009
on tap-pours a tight light brown head and dark brown with red color. Aroma is roasty, dark malt, some nut. Taste is roasty, dark malt-licorice/anise, slight acidic hops. Nice. LilBeerDoctor (4032) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 2, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of very rich roasted malt. Flavor again of sweet rich roasted malt, vanilla, nougat, molasses, and sweet lagery (the only descriptor I can think of) malt. Good stuff.

Pours jet black with nice head. Aroma is light roast and some chocolate. Taste is nice and simple baltic porter with smooth roasty character and light chocolate. Very simple and drinkable for the high abv.
