Pours with a one-finger head that fades slowly leaving a little lace. Light clear amber color. Low carbonation. Nose is sweet orange. Medium bodied. Starts sweet, very smooth, the high ABV is not noticable. Best of 8 beers I have had from Russia. $2.95 for a 500ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma. The ABV is 8.0%. Firstly, Thanks to me Russian mate who bought this all the way to Aus!
This is a damn fine beer. It’s got an excellent strong taste without any real bitterness but with a gentle maltyness that builds up in your gob, a good beer aroma (that still smells good the next day), and a damn fine appearance.
This was a good smooth malty drink and I want another one.
I admit to being pleasantly surprised with this one. I’ve got to hunt out more Russain beers now. NJBeerman013 (1054) - Hamilton Twp., New Jersey, USA - SEP 4, 2004
A good strong beer. It tastes like most European style lagers with a bit more punch. It is a bit sweetish, probably from the added malt they use. quite enjoyable beer. leaparsons (10554) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - SEP 25, 2002
Known to me as Bochyarev Strong (took me a while to find it on RateBeer!). Looks like lager, tastes like lager - alcoholic as vodka. Beware - this is an easy drinker in terms of taste. But...nurrrrrrrr..

Golden color with small vanishing head. Slightly malty and sweet aroma. Full bodied, very sweet flavor. Mildly hopped, strongest part of this beer is obviously lasting sweetness. Low carbonated, very nice and easy to drink, in positive way. Alcohol taste is covered perfectly, maybe some warm mouthfeel is present. Bravo International started off as a soft drinks company, then opened a brewery in St Petersburg in 1988. They make a range of 12 lagers of varying strength - this, along with Oblomov Strong is the strongest. It is a very malty and firm bodied lager as one would expect from the strength - not too sweet, with enough hoppy bitterness to make it surprisingly refreshing. A reasonably clean and crisp lager. One of the best strong lagers I’ve enjoyed, but nothing really special. rauchbier (3891) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - DEC 10, 2002
Bottled. Bright straw gold colour with low head and moderate condition. Initial Malt aromas mask an underlying bitter celery edge. Slightly oversweet and malty in the mouth but this is lost to an intense dry bitter finish.

tap. As I recall it: Pours golden. Fresh, moderate hoppiness, some traces of fruit in taste and aroma. Also some traces of wet grass. Not 100% sure this is the one I had though, but I think so. Pardon me if not. Boystout (1000) - Chisinau, MOLDOVA - AUG 8, 2003
Amber color, thin head. Strong alcoholic aroma and taste with respectable malt background. Not so easy to finish a 0.5 liter bottle.
