Sweet and sour is a good way to describe the nose on this one, quite a bit of the barnyard type sour notes and a candy like sweetness. Clear dark beatiful dark ruby color, fairly quickly fading white head. Caramel sweetness comes through as expected on the nose first, followed by some green apple tartness and a lemony sweet finish. 330ml bottle. Dark amber body, medium yellow head with good retention. Aroma of yeast, sour cherry, herbal hops, spicy and some woody notes. Pours a clean copper (seems deep amber sometimes) colour with a big off-white head that goes down slowly and leaves a bit of lace. A nice thin coat tops the brew. Sour nose with hints of cherries, earth and wind going through a farm. The mouthfeel is very, very sour with a little tart in the finish. Sour taste. feels like eating rhubarb, with notes of mild caramel in the background, cereal grain, cherries and other wild berries. It pours ruby with mahogany highlights; the head is tan and foamy. The aroma has notes of: pungent acute barnyard funk, lemon-juice, toffee, hay, and sour berry. The taste is very-heavy sour and medium sweet and high acidity; there are notes of: lemon-juice, sour berries, toffee, and red-fruit jam. The palate is full-bodied, has light carbonation, and really long sour and sticky finish. Overall, it’s extreme pungency is a welcomed change from more subdued sour beers. 330mL bottle lickbo. Clearish red with a huge beige head. The aroma is spot-on for the style with loads of acidity and cherries. Flavour hits right away with very sharp acidity and musky cherry. Somewhat woody although it’s in the background. Finishes sweet and then quite tart. Feels lightly carbonated for the style. Over-all very well done, albeit a style that I don’t typically get much out of.

Very well put together. The berry-balsamic tartness is powerful, acidic. Some stemmy tannins from the wood.

Bottle pours dark red with quickly dissipating brownish red head. Head is completely gone after a minute or two. Barnyard, spoiled vegetables, cherry, red wine. Very sour with medium body. 330 mL bottle. Pours a reddish brown with a thin white head. Aromas of apple, sour cherry, nectarine, a touch of vanilla and oak, and a fragrant tea-like note. Full on sour with a fine mouth feel and medium body. Lingering sourness and minimal hop bitterness or aroma. Complex and smooth, undoubtedly well made. A great sour. 330 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear dark brown with orange tinge and decent-sized, tight, light tan head. Aroma is modestly sour fruit with defined cherry note and hints of oakiness. Flavour absolutely bursts with cherry, quite sour, gentle woodiness, some hints of other fruits (maybe apple and plum) and a little saltiness. 330 ml bottle - clear copper =red ale smallish cap goes quickly to a surface lace. Aroma is sour cherry over hors blanket. Peppery moth feel, dry and puckering. Flavour has big sour fruit in front ...mid palate some complexity with apple, stone fruit, cocoa, vanilla light wood tones....finish dry an puckering with a sour cherry kiss at the end. After finishing my last Rodenbach Gran Cru last night I can say this sour red is brighter and a bit more complex
